I'll give props to the Stone Temple. The developers likely took a look at the brief dimension-flipping puzzle in the Forest Temple, and decided to take it one step further. It also has one of the better dungeon songs from Majora's Mask(besides the playable melodies).

@DRUNK_CANADIAN: Is there anything you DO like about the Zelda series? Like, seriously -_-

As for the Skyward Sword theme music, I don't give a f*ck whether it's based on Zelda's Lullaby, it sounds awesome to me! :3

It blew my mind the first time I heard it in reverse.

I might as well throw in my own thoughts.

Favourite game?

Majora's Mask, definitely. I just love all the mysteriousness surrounding it and it has a slightly darker tone than others, not to mention the countless conspiracy theories that have spawned from it. (Stone Tower theory, Ben, nuff said) It's also a tad more challenging than most other games in the series methinks.

Fave part/thing that happened to you?

The very first time I beat Bongo Bongo. (Boss of the Shadow Temple in OoT) Somehow I got knocked down to a quarter of a heart left with no way to recover, yet managed to pull of a win. My first few arrow shots missed, somehow dodged the hands, the eye appeared after getting a lucky shots on the hands and just let loose with my final arrow, ending it with a jump attack from the Biggoron Sword. An awesome feeling that I remember to this day.

Why do you like the series?

Ever since I started with A Link to the Past on SNES from a very young age (3 I think), the series has captivated me, and continues to do so somehow, even if they do follow the same basic formula most of the time.

Stuck on a certain part?

The Great Bay Temple from Majora's Mask. Even now that place hates me.

Don't even get me started on that whole Stone Tower theory fiasco. :P

I thought it was a funny concept...who would've thought of flipping the whole temple and creating a second innovative play-through that way? I certainly found that temple the best out of all four in Majora's Mask.

I hated the Great Bay temple though...I got stuck SOOOOO many times, I even lost count in the end XD

Stone Tower Temple was pretty brill. The Great Fairy item afterwards was pretty great too.

I like the Stone Tower of Babel theory. :P

The water temples in OoT and TP gave me a lot of ire.

I guess the giants scene in MM or Hyrule flooding at the end of WW were the biggest wow moments for me.

So does anyone here have Skyward Sword yet? Without giving anything spoilerish away, what do you think of it?

Oh me too...I remember when I was first playing OoT, I think I threw my controller across the room at one point and didn't pick the game up again for a long time xDImage IPB

My favourite Zelda game would have to be Twilight Princess...I mean I love all the Zelda games I've played, but there's something about TP that I love...the story, the music, Midna, I greatly enjoyed being a wolf, and howling xD...that's the gift of the Zelda games, the stories and the music are always magical. It's not the most difficult Zelda game I've ever played, that would be OoT. As I said in my post above, OoT water temples = murder *laughs*. I particular enjoyed the Sand temple, The level with those Yeti things (sorry, can't quite remember the name xD) and the Temple of Time in TP, but really...I loved them all ;-)

Twilight Princess had some of the best dungeons and bosses in the entire series, as well as a nice soundtrack, good swordplay (you can finally fight on horseback), an awesome fishing minigame (could've made a completely separate game altogether out of it), and nice tie-ins to Ocarina of Time (including the fabled Light Temple that we missed out on in OoT).

And above all else - the game is just fun, and that's always a good thing. Only things I don't like are the damn bug-hunting bits during the first act of the game, and the last two dungeons and the ending are pretty underwhelming.

ALttP's awesomeness, on the other hand, can be summed in two words: Dark World. :D

Such awesomeness even seeped into the Metroid franchise to create Dark Aether in Metroid Prime 2. I liked the different sword moves you could unlock in it too (Minish Cap was the first game to incorporate this I think) I really loved the Morpheel and Stallord fights.

As far as Skyward Sword is concerned, I wasn't sure about the controls at first but they kinda grew on me, even if I never managed to really master them. My biggest complaint with it is that some parts feel like "padding" (reusing some areas and bosses), but it's always done with a twist, so it's not that bad. Some stuff, like the harp of the few songs you learn for it, feel tacked on too. As with a lot of Zelda games, it starts pretty slow and the first dungeon is nothing to write home about.

That being said, I had a lot of fun with it and some of the dungeons are truly great. There's a strong emphasis on the story and the characters are interesting and likeable. Also, Mr Tingle isn't in it, that's always a huge plus. I wouldn't call it my favorite Zelda game ever, but I definitely don't regret getting it and I'm looking forward to doing a second playthrough in Hero mode.

How is the Link-Zelda dynamic? I heard they've improved it alot, but I was kinda skeptical since Link still doesn't talk.

I picked up SS and I'm about 70%/30 hours in. I'm a bit surprised I've played it that much; it seems to fly by, which is ironic because the games footprint (i.e. the scale/places you travel) is fairly contained. I'm enjoying it and it is indeed the first game I've played in awhile in which I actually want to play whenever I have a free moment. With that said, its not endearing to me as much as Ocarina and Majoras (which I'm glad so many others like as much as I did!); it may just be nostalgia, though.

As for the motion controls, they can definitely be frustrating if you like to play from your couch. Many times I find myself standing and trying to make precise chops against my opponent, as in real life. I hate that basically the last Wii game is what EVERY Wii game should've been.

I've loved the art style of the game. It is indeed different, but it works very well, especially in relation to the Wii's limitations.

As for the Link-Zelda dynamic, I'm not done yet, but you know EVERY Zelda game is Link chasing Zelda. SS is no exception. There is no VA, but so far, there is WAY more interaction than in normal Zelda games, which has been a highlight. Remember, some of the best things are said with silence.

I just tried playing Twilight Princess on the Wii but I'm so used to the GameCube version, it was a little disorienting.

I thought the sailing in Wind Waker was a little annoying at times, overall I liked it. Even when I had the Ballad of Gales I would sail to where ever I was going because I loved the soundtrack and the graphics. Finding things like those treasure hunters on the submarines was fun too.

Twilight Princess wuz da bestest.

(<--- Has only ever played Twilight Princess)

Don't know if I'll ever play any of the other games. I get attached to characters, which is why I prefer reading trilogies or longer in novels. Link/Sacred Beast and Midna seem like the only Legend of Zelda for me now, and even though I know some of the other games are supposed to be as good, I don't really think I could stand playing as a new Link of differing age and graphics knowing different people (except a Princess that doesn't remember him, of course). Seems depressing, really.

Or maybe that's just because I'm listening to that reversed theme/Zelda's Lullaby or something. I feel like I missed out on a great ZOMG moment when I didn't recognize it from anywheres, unlike the comments people.

I would say TP depressed me in a similar way, much more than previous Zelda games ever did. Not sure why. But that's why I've only played it once, not for lack of it being good. :?

Definitely one of the better zelda games in a while. Perhaps not LttP/OoT top notch, but it's close. (From seeing the playthroughs)

I don't really think I could stand playing as a new Link of differing age and graphics knowing different people (except a Princess that doesn't remember him, of course). Seems depressing, really.

In which case, you may want to avoid titles like Final Fantasy - it gets reincarnated more often than a buddhist.

I hated the Great Bay temple/The Great Bay Temple from Majora's Mask. Even now that place hates me.

Thirded. The water spinning hub area is a nightmarish concept brought to life. That would be like having a gust of air hub room in a sky temple.

Maybe it's the sad ending. Do all Zelda games have a trollish/sad ending?

What do you mean by "trollish"?
