This isn't a hate thread or spam or anything, but with all of the spoiler reading people basically saying ME3 is the opposite of what we thought it would be I can't help but find myself worried that some of it might be true. I mean, from what I've seen everyone is saying that Bioware has turned it into a TPS and made the focus on deep story take a passenger seat. So is anyone else a little on edge about the whole thing? I have yet to read any spoilers and will not be reading them, but I already prepurchased the CE and I just wanna know that what I'm getting is an ME game and not a shooter with a few negligible choices sprinkled in. I know we Bioware fans are a sensative bunch and that we tend to exagerate things, but still, some confirmation would be nice.

EDIT: BTW, I'm still hyped like a middle school girl for this game, so ya.

I think some people have unrealistic expectations of what they want the game to be. Nobody can really say what the it will be like until the game is released. The multiplayer is completely optional and won't effect the story if you don't want it too and i'm expecting the story and cutscenes to be somewhat like ME2's DLC with more improvements.

That's about all I can say.

The only thing that worries me is the story and the exploration.

People with unrealistic expectations will be disappointed.

People with realistic expectations but for whom the choices went another way will also be disappointed.

People who don't want a balanced shooter-RPG will be disappointed but something 'pure' will be disappointed.

People who want a flawless story with no horrendous cliches will be disappointed.

Most people, however, will enjoy it quite well.

The spoilers are only a script of the game depciting ideas for the story. Also, Bioware knows about the spoilers and said the script was an old one and not the finished product. Anyone who read it is an idiot fot automatically assuming the game would be abd from reading what was on the script. What really makes the game is the surprise and aww when you first play. As for any videos, I've heard people complimenting them and saying how the game already looks fantastic for an unfinished product. The game is likely to use a refined version of the gameplay from ME2 with more options in it than before. As for the choices, it's for you to decide. If you like the game or not is for you to decide. Don't decide on not buying when it hasn't come out yet, unfinished. Bioware is likely bringing in some things to make it worth while. Don't listen to anyone who goes off saying it's going to be bad because they read the script. The point is to actually play the game and see how everything is implemented.

Doesn't a flawless story with no horrendous clichés generally fall under "unrealistic expectations"?

ME3 is the best parts of ME1 and ME2 combined. People are complaining either because they have no idea what they're complaining about, or because their unrealistically high expectations weren't met.

If you liked the two earlier games, it's very unlikely that ME3 will disappoint you.

Scared.....definitely, only cause I love the series so much.

Will I get everything I want, I sure hope so.

Will I let some whiny people (hate or fanboy) dictate how I feel or how my expectations are.....H*** no.
I do not care what they think they read, nor will I let the opinion people have for marketing affect anything going into ME3; I've already made up my mind for buying ME3, all marketing is gonna do is show me stuff to decrease the pain for waiting.

Well, perhaps if you read something like the "Epic of Gilgamesh", when clichés weren't cliché yet.

I'm not afraid in the slightest, and I read the leak. Not everyone agrees that it will be a linear, intellectually insulting gears clone that didn't accurately predict what Ceberus should do in the next installment.

Look around the boards, read people's arguments on ME2 and ME1, see if you agree with them, then look towards those people when they speak of ME3. A clear pattern emerges, and I agree with Dean, most people will be satisfied quite well enough.

There will, however, be copious amounts of complaining leading up to, during and after ME3's launch.

This pretty much sums up how I feel. I just wish people would stop bad mouthing it and just wait till it comes out.

I'm kinda scared, but maybe that's a good thing. Some of the things I've heard have caused me to lower my expectations. Maybe that prevents me from disappointment?

I have heard just enough praise for the script though as I've heard complaints.

Waaaait, I'm totally missing something here. Did more info get leaked out or are we talking about the beta demo? Bioware needs to buy some major caulk.

Read the script; it's fine. Nothing worse than Benezia's dying speech or the Lazarus project (although it came close; there were a few twists where I wanted to find the writer responsible and slap him/her). There were also parts that legitimately made me laugh, parts that made me almost cry, parts that I didn't see coming, and parts that I could never have predicted, but make so much sense in retrospect that I can't believe I never figured it out.

It will be at least as good as the previous two titles. However, don't expect it to be the same as two previous titles.

Also, the gameplay mechanics are easy to clarify for yourself without plunging too deeply into spoilers. Basically, the shooting's better, and the skill/weapon customization is deeper.

Let me reiterate: IT WILL BE AT LEAST AS GOOD AS THE PREVIOUS TWO. The majority of people who are upset wanted something very specific to happen with the game that disagreed with what the ME3 team wanted (example: Cerberus are bad guys now and heat sinks are still in).

An early draft of the story's script was leaked along with the beta.

I've read most of the leak and for myself it only made me more excited about the game. Can't wait till March.

There are a lot of legitimate worries. I'm certainly not happy with a lot of the choices that seem to have been made. Who knows what you might like or not like in the leak. Agree with Cheez though that gameplay mechanics will be like ME2 with improvements.

I know there are the haters that defend the script claiming its the pinnacle of the reasons ME3 will suck<_< and that Bioware is lying when they say it is old. But I would not land credence to something that was datamined out of an unfinished pre-released beta. It just dosen't seem realistic to assume that's not close to a first or second draft. Not counting the fact that there are 4 empty lines between each point.
