*sigh* this is stupid.

Shepard doesn't regenerate health --> Shepard always regenerates health --> Shepard sometimes regenerates health. Is consistency too much to ask for??

Well, you can only blame it on ME2 that went too far in gameplay changes in the first place. Frankly, from the mechanics perspective, ME3 looks like it should've been the sequel to ME1 instead of ME2.

To be fair, I'm one of those who complained - a lot - after ME2's changes in terms of how weapons were aimed, and health regeneration. Having played both games a lot since ME2 came out, I've come around and actually really like the ME2 system. It's more realistic with weapon aiming, and more fun with health regeneration. It promotes, to an extend, realistic tactics whilst also encouraging aggression. I mean how much fun is it to be constantly worrying about how many med-packs you have rather than actually fighting the enemy?

I implore Bioware to just give us regenerating health up to 100%. Slow it down if you want, but please don't revert to the ME1 system or use a hybrid. It makes no sense in terms of lore, and it's bad for gameplay.

This isn't a new mechanic, games featuring it have been around for a long time and are not any more difficult. You will probably see the enemy lethality scaled back to compensate. The number one difference will be to encourage slower and more cautious gameplay. It is also harder for the devs to balance because now they must consider how much healing is available throughout a mission.

The only way I could see this possibly enhancing gameplay is if there are lot of interesting class abilities that tie into this new mechanic to help regenration. This wasn't the case in ME1. Yeah the Soldier could regenerate and various classes gained more life per medigel. That wasn't particularly interesting and the whole mechanic became obsolete as soon as your character got it's first health regen enhancment.

Borderlands is an example where it actually works OK, each class has a couple of different abilities that help health regeneration. Even then I'm not completely convinced it is worth it. There were plenty of times when you were low level and this just became a drag.

why do you need FULL regenerating health tho? at the very least youll have 1/5 health bars, and full shields. depending on how many bars of health medigel replenishes, youll always have the option to get health back. you can replace the regen health, with medigel. instead of doing nothing in cover to replenish health, youll be doing medigel in cover to replenish health. its kindof the same thing, but its an active regen, instead of auto regen. what exactly does non-regen health take away from gameplay, other then not allowing you to countinue playing berserker mode?

i feel like im being pushy. i just want your perspective on how you can think this will take away all that much from your playstyle.

i was hoping ME3 would go with this kindof health system, im suprised becaseu usually they do the opposite of what i want.

I wonder if they'll have suit upgrades that automatically regenerate health like in ME1 again?

well its a stupid health system really in 2012 there is need to rely on health packs in a game . that is out dated and so stupid . Bioware is back tracking to early 90's style game design with this . Games have evloved and so should the ME series . there better be either unlimted health packs aka medi gel or a suit upgrade for full reng health because this is bull sh*t the enemy ai gets a upgrade and now we have to worry about freaking health packs wow Shepard is should just be like nathan drake in uncharted and have a shirt and pants on since he is not a sci fi super soldier / adpet . .

So...what are you complaining about here? You want Shepard to where a shirt and jeans because his health doesn't regenerate? That makes no sense whatsoever.

yeah if Shepard has to worry about health packs then he or she does not need any armor at all . whats the point of space suits and armor if you have to worry about health packs . same issue I had with Halo 1 and reach . It just does not fit the story of the game and plus it out of date and old game design . This is suppose to be a sci fi game based in the year 2185 .  really and for a solider to need to worry about med packs in the 21 Century sounds so stupid . what game play addition does this make none it makes the game even harder now with the new enemy ai .  Hell just make  it a turn based rpg game since now the Vangurad class is completely point less with this health system and the adept  and soldier classes are pointless as well .  They better have either a option for full regen health or unlimited medi gel . Or a full regen health sysem upgrade. This is insane in 2012 a game is going back to the most out of date and old form of health in a game . It was freaking laughable silly in Halo 1 and reach and its even sad now in 2012 . but I will play the demo and see but if the health issue prevents me and many others who play Adept and Vanguard from playing those classes Bioware better either balance it with a patch or do something . Its fine if you play Soldier class thats logical but when it comes to adepts or Vanguard this might be a issue

You realize soldiers rely on "health packs" today right? And that we're in the 21st century?

Yeah, Shepard may have nano-tubes with medi-gel woven all over his body, but that medi-gel is bound to run out some time.

Not to mention that they might have to heal a civilian who doesn't have a medical exoskeleton.

I do not like it right now but if I play the demo and it works with the Vangurard and Adept classes and I can still charge and use the powers then fine ,  I will give it a chance to prove me wrong

so once your shields go down, you want to instantly die from getting hit by one bullet?

or you just never want to die, becasue its the year 2185?

im glad it makes the game harder. specifically speaking, im glad its a different method of making the game harder, rahter then the horrible idea enemy protections brought about for me and my adept. i dont think your going to loose anything, other then the ability to be at full health after counting to 6. youll simply be at atleast 1/5 health with full shielding. if you ant full health, use your medigel. i dont see what hinders your gameplay other then the fact that you have to be active in your health regen. i really never felt rewared for hiding in cover for 5 seconds and getting to full health through regen. it felt extremely cheap.

I liked the shield regen in ME1. Makes sense. However armor damage should be somewhat permanent till you get it fixed. Then again there might be some nano repair thingy that regens armor too, at a slower rate than shields though.

God I hoped they finally improved the squad AI so your mates don't run into a wall of bullets or otherwise seek to get themselves killed.

I never wanted it to be easy I simply think it will have a impact on the adept and vanguard classes since they rely on their powers more than a Soldier class player would . I like a game that has a challenge but not never racking ones like demon souls . Oh and I agree no enemy in the game should have biotic blocking power . but at least the demo is coming out so we can see for our selfs . I see your point

The Phantom can block biotics, but it's done so you can't just keep staggering enemies over and over until you kill them.

I don't think the First Aid power will have a cooldown either. Besides, you'll have access to all the weapons now, so you can form different tactics to tackle the enemy without getting hurt so much.

Also, if you're using your biotic abilities to the maximum potential, you'll have nothing to worry about.

Don't do this when facing a Guardian:

Do this instead:

And you'll be fine.

Hmmm I know that they have said that we can pick up enemies weapons in game so I have a question @Mass:  Can we pick up the shields?
