Does anyone know if the rumors that Sazh is only going to be in DLC are true? He was in one of the trailers briefly, and it wasn't a scene from XIII, it was new cause Dajh was with him in a ship.

It's true. Sazh is definitely going to appear in DLC.

While I'm saddened at the lack of Sazh in the main game, I'm excited that a Final Fantasy game will have DLC.

Yep, not buying this game. I just read the bullets on the link someone posted about the famitsu review and this part just confirmed it for me:

"Party is always Noel, Serah + monsters"

Though the multiple endings bit is impressive and something I didn't expect.

It's a major let down that there are much less playable characters in this game. I liked having some choice in my party (although not until halfway through the game almost) There was some fun to be had by trying different combinations for different tactics.

And no Lightning! She was like the main good thing about the first game. I don't even see why she's on the cover of the game if she's not even the main character lol

It's really bad there is no permanent playable Light or any of the others, but at least the previous mains have a fairly prominent role still. that's something.

You know, this game could have been so much better than the crap that was FFXIII but then I found this.

I have never seen a company take a crap on a hugely successful franchise so fantastically.

This sequel looks promising. I guess Noel and Serah will grow on me.

or Mitsuda, but we all know it's not going to happen. Like I said a billion times, the company that gave us Chrono Trigger, FFVI, and Xenogears is reduced to this piece of turd.

There's nothing wrong with Crazy Chocobo. It's only for when you Red Chocobos which are better known for their fiery and wild temper in the series. The Yellow Chocobos theme is different.

Really not keen on this monster system it's just an excuse to not give you a proper party to use. Seems way too fiddly it's Persona with FF creatures. And did i really see QTE's for monster attacks? Ugh.

As for that Chocobo theme personally i like it. But then i don't have a butt fetish for nostalgia so i can get over them trying new things with the music instead of making the same thing over and over. Not every FF is going to be like VI or VII.

Speaking of FFVI and Nobuo Uematsu, that reminds me - man, Dancing Mad is probably the greatest final boss track ever composed. I find myself listening to all 17 minutes of it on a regular basis just because it's so brilliant.

There's nobody quite like Mr. Uematsu in the games business - he's half the reason the old FF games were so good IMHO. I certainly wouldn't have remembered them too well if not for epic tracks like Terra, the entire FFVI Opera, Opening - Bombing Mission, Aeris' Theme, and so much more.

Yeah Dancing Mad is great.

The last good final boos theme FF had in my view was this.

If only because it is odd but fits.

Oh and Moondoggie I don't want VI or VII again I just want to have good remixes of good old music(I am all for new stuff) just not that thing.

Agreed, I really loved that opera sequence for some reason. I just remembered there was an alternate intro on the FFVI intro (from ps1) that had Celes' opera theme featured as the song. This intro brings back so many memories. For anyone that's only played FFX and onward, I really urge you to play FFVI or Chrono Trigger and see what everyone is talking about. Here's the opera intro btw with the opera theme (Aria di Mezzo Caraterre) for anyone interested:

there's also another different arranged version of the opera theme that came with the ending video for FFIV:

Man, FF has lost it's heart and I have no nostalgia for the games, hell my first FF was X so no one can tell me I like the older games better because I had them as a kid.

I am all for new things but can they be good?

Guys, don't make this a music spam thread.

Also Crazy Chocobo is just the Red Chocobo theme, check out Groovy Chocobo, more like the original. (I honestly think Crazy was just an intentional joke by the devs)

Meh, I'm not sure anyone's really going to care about the Chocobo Theme being different in a sequel to a game that a lot of people didn't like in the first place, and certainly didn't ask for a sequel to (and probably won't even bother to play).

I know I don't - Square's glory days are looong past, as are FF's.

Well I don't really care it's just put me in an odd/bad mood I guess.

More so since I view this and FFVXIII as the last hope for FF(a hope that dies day by day).

Hey, all game franchises lose steam sooner or later (if they even had any in the first place) - even the ones we all know and love. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

...I would like a half-decent remake of FFVII, though. People have been clamoring for one for years since Square made the mistake of showing a PS3 tech demo using the game's opening scene, and I say they should give 'em what they want. I'd certainly be down for a good remake (especially with realistic looking characters and a better translated script - both of which the original lacked).
