Watch what you say Gatt and DeathDragon. You're treading on shaky ground and it can also lead to unnecessary flaming, going off topic on a wild tangent, leading it to being locked.

Also if it's any consolation I didn't see anything rude in his post. Unless, of course you feel you qualify for a certain part of said post.

Now that I think about it, Caius might be protecting the timeline because he believes that Noel and Serah cause a catastrophe through their actions, which contributes to the multiple endings in the game. Like how Silver the Hedgehog believed that Sonic was the Iblis Trigger and would destroy the future, but was revealed that when Mephiles killed Sonic, the Trigger took effect through his death, with Silver realizing the truth.

It also reminds me of Azimuth in Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time, only he wanted to change the timeline, but doing so would destroy the universe, so he sacrificed himself to prevent it.

Perhaps if Caius realizes that there is more going on within the timeline, he might not be as hesistant and work with the heroes to find out the truth.

Maybe there isn't even any real bad guys. Antagonists yeah, but not bad/evil. The'yre all trying to do something right but they are unintentionally (Intentionally in Caius's and possibly Light's case) putting obstacles in each others way.

Whatdo you guys think of the party system this time around? Gonna be interesting with the choosing of creatures.

To be honest, I don't like it. From a gameplay stand point I can see how it could be fun and challenging, but I really wanted to see more of the first game's charcters to be playable.

Me too. but from a story stand piont.... Lightning is in Vahalla, Fang and Vanille are crystalised, Hope is a working at some sort of Academy, Sazh is helping to improve gran pulse(plus he is a father) and Snow is missing.( I want to see his reaction when he finds out serah is running around with another guy).

I don't the cast is going to be on this time traveling journey. maybe as guest characters but thats it really.

Blame FFXIV for that one. don't like MMO's that much. FFXIII is a great game no matter what the sales say. FFX and VI sold less than FFVII but both are better than FFVII(in my opinion) but sales aren't everything. does this mean CoD is the greatest game everymade since it sells so well?.

Every battle consists of "Hit the X button a half dozen times",  the gameplay consists of "Get cut scene every 10 feet".  The story was largely nonsensical,  and nigh-impossible to get into.  It was hands down the worst game I've ever played,  and I bought Battlecruiser 3000AD on day 1.

ofcourse you have to hit X. how else are you going to select an attack. (or auto battle if your a noob)
why do people have such hate for cut-scenes?. I love cut-scenes in a game becuase it help will drive the story forward. as for the story being nonsensical... I don't know what to say if you couldn't follow it. guess it was too complex for you huh?. Ok yes if you don't read the datalog, things will get confusing, but I like that about a story. where it doesn't just explain everything all at once(it makes the characters look stupid). YOU have to piece together the story(if you don't read tthe datalog).

saying this the game is the worst ever is all in your opinion. Tons of other people loved FFXIII and it's characters. mostly in Japan. Agian we are here to talk about the sequel and not it's predecessor.

Ok,  since you want to be rude...

1.  That's pretty much all the game consists of,  press X every few minutes.  The running joke on my college campus was unlocking the secret achievement "Pressed the X button 10,000 times in a row".

2.  Cut-scenes are fine.  5 minutes of cut-scenes every 5th battle is ridiculous.  It's much more a movie than a game.

3.  No,  it wasn't too complex.  It was idiotic storytelling.  Good storytelling consists of actually giving people background before throwing 2 dozen completely meaningless terms at them.  If i need a dictionary to figure out what the heck is happening in a game's story,  because the writers are so horribly bad at writing that they couldn't figure out what the purpose of an introduction is,  then the game's story is a failure.  Perhaps you enjoy being completely bewildered about what's happening and why you're supposed to care,  but I guarantee you,  you are the minority on this one.

4.  You're right,  saying it's the worst ever is my opinion.  Saying it's amazingly bad,  however,  is not.

http://www.metacriti...ii/user-reviews

A 6.4 user rating demonstrates the game is bad.

5.  Quit trying to ignore the problems with the series by claiming you're here to talk about the new one.  It's the direct sequel to FF13,  and so FF13 is extremely relevant in any conversation about the sequel to FF13.  The game had massive problems,  if FF13-2 doesn't solve them,  it will not sell.

He is right in some respects...and in my opinion FFXIII-2 looks worse than FFXIII, but then again I've heard mixed things about the exploratory nature of the game...but the story already seems like dog**** (read part of wiki).

But again I say, FFXIII was a bad FF, hardly adhering to the game structure, just had the name slapped on so people would buy it, that said the game wasn't a complete waste for an RPG, but it was certainly not in the realm of what I would call good...and yes your points with respect to storytelling are quite spot on.

I actually like Noel and Serah as protagonists in this game. Noel is someone new, which its nice to have somebody new for a new game. Serah is familiar, as a character from 13, but she wasn't playable in that game, so still fresh. I think not playing any of the PCs from 13 is an interesting and good idea. I'm not crazy about having random monsters in the third party slot, but solely a matter of taste. I'd have preferred a third protagonist. I should probably just be glad that there's nobody unbearably obnoxious though.

I don't think 13 was the worst FFs ever. I think it was better written than most FFs. The character writing and dialog was a lot better than most games in the series. Have you ever tried reading dialog from pre-10 FFs out loud? The overall plot of FF10, felt a bit pointless, since you spent most of the game just aimlessly wandering. It's OK though, IMO, because it was more a story about the characters and how they developed along their journey. In-fact, 13 is one of the very few FFs I'd consider to have real character development.

I didn't like that it threw you in the deep end from the start though, and required lots of codex reading just to know the words used, but it's not the first FF to do this. FF7 and FF8 both had just as much nonsensical jargon to anyone first playing those games. So it's not some unforgivable sin. Even Bioware is a guilty of this in some of their games.

As much as people like to hate on FF10 and Tidus, I thought it did a wonderful job of introducing the player to the game's world via Tidus.

Wait which game are you talking about lol...FFX or FFXIII lol, you jumped back and forth so many times :/

Also in FFX you were collecting the aeons/summons, to collect the final summon and complete the summoner's path or w.e...although you could wander if you so wanted.

I am one of those JRPG's haters. But you can't hate something before you try it so, I decided to give Final Fantasy 13 a try and my god I hated it. I hate Hope, the innocent pink haired girl (not Serah), Sazh was a stereotypical clumsy black guy and the paradigms was annoying. I can not progress any further because of some guards on hover bikes annihilating me. The upgrade system was foreign to me. Scratch that, the entire game was. And the soundtrack is so inappropriate, it is all happy despite the situation. But this game sounds good.

Well it's pretty much confirmed by *cough* walkthroughs that they'll be a FF XIII-3.

I've never played FF much besides for FFVII on PC so I was curious how the story would go which led me to follow the story online. The gameplay looks decent and judging by the reactions I think it'll satisfy most FF fans.

I still have not beat the first one (13), I always get one shotted at the final boss. I seriously do not want to super grind the alt trees for the chars since that will take forever.

Whatever holds me over to ME3, however.

Meh, it was the characters that made me dislike FF13. They were a hateful bunch with no redeeming qualities. I see nothing here that would make me buy this new one. I couldn't sit through another 50 hours of random squealing, constant emo posing and strange retardation.

The best part of FF13 was when Snows Rebel Army got it ass handed to it after all of his "We'll win as we are hero's!" Nope ***** smack*

No, no, no, no, no. You don't have to grind.  This "one shot" Orphan keeps hitting you with is Death, same as Vanille's, only his hits far more often. All you need to do is find and upgrade the crowns that give you Death resist and Orphan is actually not difficult at all (I got the super star ahcievement without even having the Gold Watch). You can get up to like 97% Death resist by using the crowns and with that there's no way he'll ever get you with the one shot :D

EDIT: Durp, I didn't tell you the name of the item. You want to use  Seraph's Crowns, three of them should give you like 94-97 percent Death resist.
