I don´t really want SE to fail. Ive been a hardcore FF fan since I was 12 years old, and XIII-2 will be the first FF game I won´t be bying on day 1. XIII was a dissapointment, mainly because of the ridicilous characters (Looking at you Hope, Snow and Vanilla) and the sucky manusscript ("I want to be a hero to save everyone omg omg ogm!") The story itself, and the beautiful world was done well.

That being said... all good companies can fail. So the reason I think Square deserves a massive slap in the face is because of how they threat their fans. Like FF Versus was showed back in 2006. 2006! Wtf...? And they keep teasing us with absolutly nothing! There are absolutly no company ever who treats their fans so ****ty as them.
Not to mention all the spin-off from wonderful games such as FFVII and Kingsom Hearts. I´ve lost track!

So yes, I hope Square goes straight down to hell..for a while... just to regain themself and make quality games like they did before.

Actually they listened to their fans complaints are fixing most of XIII's problems so they say. VsXIII is ridiculous though. We want KH3 already!

Yeah I kinda agree with this and the poster above, I was a bit let-down with XIII and from what I've read about XIII-2 (especially the story) it fares no better in my opinion.

However even if XIII-2 gets crapped on too, I just expect this year that Square actually have some Versus to show off as well other projects/games that other fans may be looking forward to; Kingdom Hearts 3 and maybe a console Dissidia game perhaps?

They are not going to make Dissida games like the two they made already, instead they are going to make a rhythm game, no lie.

So best to hope for a Dissida puzzle game for a console.

If you get a PSP, pick up Dissidia 012, Star Ocean 1 remake and SO2 port, the Persona portables... List goes on. Oh, KH Birth by Sleep.

well Time Travel stories do mind **** the simple minds of Humans. but I expected the other way round, oh well still getting the game. 

Does the Demo have a release date for Austraila? all I see are Europe and American realese dates.

According to Kotaku Australia a demo is due on the 10th. I know it's the 11th in NA so this is probably the AUS date.

I Downloaded the new demo and I am so confused as soon as I started. I don't understand this paradigm system so I just stay on slash & burn. I really want to punch Serah with all the constant gasping and the way she runs just annoys me over all. I just butchered what looked like a cat in a up and some robot thing with stumpy little legs and a square spinning around it. I can not believe these pathetic looking things actually posed a threat to me. Noel seems okay, sounds similiar to the elf guy in Dragon Age 2, his name slips my mind. Final Fantasy 13 was my first FF game and first JRPG and just the characters pissed me off. I hope Hope is dead, I could not added to play 13 due to being ravaged by police men on bikes, I am stuck. I hope this new FF is good. I really do want to like Final Fantasy.

Oh and how can I forget mug or what the hell that thing is. Seriously, If I ended up in the Final Fantasy universe I would end up slapping every single person I see and then commit suicide. Chocolina was...my god...I won't even hesitate to gun her down. Final fantasy jus reminded me how much I hate anime.

Just played the demo. I can't see it being any worse than FFXIII, and the monster system works better than I expected. Still feels too similar to the last one to appeal to me so I doubt I'll get it anytime soon if at all.

King Minos, if you want to get into Final Fantasy you picked the worst game to jump into IMO.

I haven't played the demo, but I've watched someone else play it. And from watching that and reading the GameInformer article, one thing that caught my attention is there's no more limit to how far you can advance in the crystarium based on story progress. Also, how you can reset places you've been before to play through the story again or how you can unlock other things to do in places you've already experienced the story.

I'm just bitter about how Fang and Lightning are relegated to background and cameo roles. You only control Lightning during certain segments and I'm willing to bet it's going to be like Fang is released from being crystalized and that's it.

From the GameInformer article I gather it's more like there are multiple endings, but only one ending is the "real ending"... Kind of like Chrono Trigger I guess.

Playing the demo again in my own home rather than in a noisy booth at a games Expo i felt like i was able to get more of a feel for the game. The music and visuals are great and i'm glad they retained the battle system for the most part so you can just jump right in and play and the time travel aspect adds a new element to the game. The characters seem so so from what i saw so far they are kinda cliche Final Fantasy characters though especially Noel who is just like *insert FF male lead here*

The game is inserting just about every Japanese game fad there is from mini games to oodles of QTE's and cutsie mascot characters that are fun for 5 minutes while you play with their ability to find things for you then they just irritate the hell out of you. And personally i';d rather have had a party than my own collection of FF pokemon to choose from i guess there is some tactical fun to be had with monsters but faceless beasts are only fun for a while and lack personality. I guess there might be others who will be party members during certain areas but for the most part it looks like the same 2 people all the way through.

Overall it looks like they improved on the one major area that was bad about FFXIII which was the lack of enviroment interaction and the pathways are more opened out instead of constantly walking in a straight path so it';s much less calostrophobic than the first game and it feels already like there is much more to do in the enviroment with side quests coming in from the start and not like 3/4 of the way through the game.
