I agree with you on the awesomeness scale at least.

Now to get on topic, difficult question, but the prii*shot* erm, I don't know. If the VS was Kaidan, then Liara, but if Ash, I'd have to say Ash.  It feels wrong though choosing one life over the other but for all I know we may be forced into such a situation ingame like in ME1.

I never romanced anyone from me1 - never felt connection, prefer having a history than automatic love interest [GARRUS AND JOKER WOO!]- but i do love them all. I bet it'd be a tough situation if the VS was up for a death scenario AGAIN.

In my canon, i have Ash as the VS. So Ash vs Liara? Imma go with Liara hands down. My FemShep treated them both like sisters.
Ash in Me1 = Liked her ALOT. Horizon = OUCH. Way to throw a dagger in my heart Ash. 
Liara in me1 = didnt like her much, but grew to like her. Then in me2 = grew to respect her alot. LOTSB = Yep. I love her. Liara one of my sistas! XP

I only save Ashley on Virmire, and I'd choose her every time over Liara.
