I would prefer not to choose since that was the team I used the most in ME1 but if I had to choose to save one it would be Kaidan...my Femshep didn't suffer through Horizon to not see the relationship through in ME3.

Liara, every single playthrough. Kaidan and Ashley are the blandest characters in the game.

Based purely off who I like better - the VS.

However - it depends on the story. If the VS were killing my crew members, threatening to blow up my ship, and then was going to allow the Reapers to win... regrettably - Liara.

Hopefully - if I do have to choose between the two - the choice is a tough one and provides reasons to lose either (instead of something like the Morinth/Samara choice - where people choose Morinth just to be edgy)

Another Virmire choice<_< Kaidan is my LI so that is a given but if I could save Liara I would. This is a war game so no one is safe and I'm pretty sure anyone can die....if you screw up somewhere.

If it was beetween Kaiden and Liara, then I would choose Liara.
Between Ash and Liara it would be Ash.

Liara over Kaidan (and that's a hard decision!)
Ash over Liara (not so hard: Ash is my fave character and Liara doesn't come close. Besides: LI bonus)

I'd kill Liara even without a reward  but I would definitely save Kaidan infinite times over Liara

I'd relish the opportunity to experience another Virmire.

It would be a very, very difficult decision as I treasure all three characters, but I think this would be the order, from "would save first" to "would save last", and my rationale is rather exhaustive. I've given this question a lot of thought.

Liara

One big element for me is how long the characters have been alive already. While Liara is quite young by asari standards, she's still had that many more years to have lived over either of them. Ash is the youngest. Kaidan is still pretty young at 35 by the time of ME3, but yeah.

Liara saved Shepard's life and he owes her a great deal, obviously, but like I said. Exhaustive thought process. Ended up pinning her to the bottom.

It highly depends on your current Shepard. If your Shepard has Liara as LI, you won't sacrifice her for Ash or Kaidan, even if you like those two more in that moment. At least that's true for me.

Liara gets the shortest stick in my decision because I like Ash far more and don't have a playthrough without romanced Ashley. I wasn't able to sacrifice her for Kaidan, I can't sacrifice her for Liara ...

Oh yeah, it depends on the current Shepard too. I was just answering based on what I'd do, me 100%, in that situation. I do play my Shepards a bit differently from one-another, although I've actually never gone full Renegade as yet.

I intend to have a playthrough where my Shepard begins to romance Ash but follows a certain strand of logic which forces him to leave her on Virmire. Quite a heartbroken run. It's a shame there isn't more you can do with that, I do feel like I'd be missing content by not having the romanced squadmate around afterward.

But then again, on my first file I didn't romance anyone in either game, so at least I know what it's like, lol.

Depends on the context.

For example; I saved Ashley on my current canon because of where she was at. The AA guns, I felt they were more important to secure than the bomb. However Kaidan pragmatically is a more important resource and I would probably save him on an equal field of judgment.



(also a tiny bit of metagaming)
The AA scene looks badass with Saren holding you over the edge. I'd be lieing to say that didn't play a minimal role.
