Since when is armor a true indicator of cup size? Like bras, I'd imagine there is some room for faking it. Image IPB

I'd like my boobs without bruises, so some space in the chest-area would be nice.
Not like a crotch-cup gives you any proper indication as to a dude's 'size'.

So anyway, topic reset:

I really like the blue and black color scheme on Ashley's armor.  I hope my Shepard gets to roll in that dark blue color, because it is nice lookin.  Also, I wonder what Ahsley's helmet is gonna look like with that armor; is it going to be something similar to the Phoenix helmet with the vizor halfway down?  That would look pretty badass.

Muscles are "designed to attract sexual partners?" I thought they evolved because they allow motion and interaction with objects, which are pretty useful tricks. Shows you what I know.

Well the BSN isn't really a place for education, but if you are disagreeing with my above statement I would recommend some research on the subject.  Yes there is a practical application for muscles, just as there is a practical application for breasts, but they are secondary sexual traits on men and women respectively.

Muscles are used for lifting heavy things, like big guns. They are also useful when punching people in the face. Therefore it makes sense for someone in a game who shoots and/or punches people to have big muscles. Given the demographics they're targeting with a game that also features space lesbians, we can be reasonably sure that giving Shep big muscles is less a way of saying "lol this guy is hawt" and more "this guy is good at shooting and/or punching people."

You are talking about something completely different.  My original statement was equating breasts on women to muscles on men only in terms of secondary sexual traits.  If you want to go down this road though, straight men want to be good looking as well.  People don't choose same sex avatars who are ugly, so the muscles indicate more sexual desirability for the avatar as well as more physical prowess.  It's not a one-or-the-other kind of thing.  They are intertwined, and it all comes back to sex in the end.  It's the same with movies.  Straight men don't want to watch an ugly hero: they want to watch a guy with lots of sexual desirability getting sexually desirable women.  And that thinking isn't reserved for guys, it's the same for girls.

But really this discussion is pointless.  I'm not disagreeing with you.  You are just insistent on focusing only on practical application of physical traits when that is an incomplete outlook.

Ashley's probably happy her armor isn't squashing her girls down anymore. Often I looked at the ME1 armors like "really? Not even a little lift?" haha

Lol Badpie! XD

AND OMG GUYS... JUST B/C THE ARMOR BOOBS ARE A CERTAIN SIZE DOESN'T MEAN THE PERSON'S ACTUAL BOOBS ARE THAT SIZE!

See FemShep in armor and casual suit in ME2. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME AS THE ARMOR BOOBS!

"Straight men don't want to watch an ugly hero: they want to watch a guy with lots of sexual desirability getting sexually desirable women."

Well, given the popularity of Judd Apatow movies, it seems like straight men like to watch really unattractive men somehow get sexually desirable women.

Indeed. That Phoenix armor squeezed Shepard's toys ... err ... Ashley's breasts. Quite uncomfortable. Her new armor should be far more comfy for Ash.

Some people seem to want to believe it is.

These people are idiots.

Ash's new armor looks great. Actually, everything we've seen thus far looks great. As for people nitpicking about the details...

The underlying message that people refuse to voice is that they don't want change. Not for the characters they feel close to, anyways. Its understandable, but annoying at the same time, because it means they can't view this subject objectively.

If BW came out with a shot of Ash in her typical white+pink armor, and said "FINE, YOU WIN, WE'RE BRINGING THE OLD ASH BACK WITHOUT ANY CHANGES", the new Ash "haters" would breath a giant sigh of relief, while people who want new content would be angry.

My main issue with this entire issue is that most of the people attacking Ash's new look are just...angry. They don't care what you show them, they'll always be pissed. People complain that Ash has makeup? What a travisty! Women wear makeup! People complain that Ash has long hair that gives them boners (for whatever reason)? What a shock, a highly trained Spectre can choose to not be so militant! People complain that Ash's combat jacket was too skimpy? What a shock, Bioware gave us new armor-- OH WAIT, that's not quite good enough! It's either old, or its too big breasted.

Why don't people get that not trusting a group of people is very different from hating them and wanting to crush them under your heel? Ashley also learns to mostly trust aliens in ME1. She even hates Cerberus and the Terra Firma Party for BEING RACISTS! Seriously people, check out Ashley's comments about the pro-human group Cerberus and the anti-alien Terra Firma Party.

Oh well, haters gonna hate.

I distrust black people but thats ok because i hate the KKK *rolls eyes*

Meh not what this threads about Ashley looks very attractive here so I finally have something good to say about her for once.

I'm still happy with Ash's armor.

After wondering whether Bioware would ultimately go the "Durr, female needs purty latex" route, I'm actually breathing a sigh of relief that it looks at least functional, if not totally befitting of her combat role. Regardless of how big it makes her boobs look (within reason, lol).

:wizard:

I'll always prefer the conservative contours of ME1 armor, but eh, as long as they're not still designing our galactic saviors with stilettos or catsuits in mind, it's all good.
