Ah. At least we have the choice to put them in actual armor.

Hope Vega has more flattering armor choice than the bulk he has on now. While that's great for dangerous missions once in a while my Shep's gonna want some eyecandy :P

And sorry but making a female the right choice in a suicide mission does not make it ok to doll them up. They can still be badass and the right choice when not all oversexed all the time.

But here's the thing: they gave both Ash and Miri armor, so while they're still doing that dumb pin-up girl thing, they're at least making an effort in the name of those of us who Do Not Want.

And don't forget; both Tali and Liara have not been oversexualized this whole time. Kasumi, too. Which is good, because these are the female squadmates I tend to use the most anyway.

I though Liara didn't count as female to BW?

Ah, yes, "non-gendered". We have dismissed that claim.

Equal opportunity spandex?  Hrm...

You know what offends me, though?  Zaeed and Grunt with their exposed, muscular arms.  I mean, jeez, talk about improper dress just for sex appeal.  Whose dumb idea was it to cut out a racy, oh-so-masculine "bicep window?"

Okay, in all seriousness, so long as ME3 minimizes buttcheek photobombs, I'm in heaven.  We got the armor, so I'm happy.

Well that latest trailer/snippet had Vega in it.  His armor looked pretty Shepardesque...

NO.

I'll give you once as a joke/ME2 reference, but that's it.

Ashley's armour >>>>>> Ashley's casual jacket thing.

i don't know, the jacket thing is just not a very good design. Looks kinda silly. Especially when everyone else in the frame is wearing alliance coloured versions. I mean, I wouldn't wear it if I didn't have to...

I know; in fact, I completely agree. I just feel the need to keep GMagnum's spirit alive, now that he's gone.

Oh, I don't think I've thanked you for making that GMagnum sig banner yet, so allow me now to extend my gratitude to you for doing so.

As much as I agree about the infamous Miranda one, people really over-exaggerate about this whole "@ss shots" thing in ME2.

We've hypothesized that he was permabanned; however, nobody knows for sure.

*sigh*

You may think it's Ashley. But I do not.

Truth is... neither of us really know for sure. We'll just have to find out.

What I do know is that Bioware has changed the way they are headed with their games. It's obvious when you look at ME1 and then ME2 and now what we've seen of ME3.

Oh really?  what I've seen is women being amazing in both games. Ashley was highly respected in ME1, in ME2 half of your elite team is female, 5/8 correct choices for the positions on the suicide mission are female. if that's what you're talking about. if not please do explain.

I'm talking visuals and style when talking about the charcters clothing, armor, and the stupid "iconic looks" kick...

I'm talking streamlining and linearity with the gameplay and choices.

And sorry but making a female the right choice in a suicide mission does not make it ok to doll them up. They can still be badass and the right choice when not all oversexed all the time.

Who gives a damn how they look. enemies don't go "her hair's down she's easier to kill!' because by the time they say half of that Ashley, Miranda, Jack, Samara, Kasumi, Tali, or Liara will have killed them already, because they're incredibly capable soldiers with wide ranges of talents that make them all the more lethal. Samra has an attack that HEALS her! so when she uses reave, she can be gettign shot but get healed at the same time!

In my perception I seem alot more content with things than you, if that's because I don't understand what science fiction is supposed to be, while you do, I'm rather happy with that actually.
Anyways, even though I've said it before, I'll leave the discussion now =) *waves

I'm with you there lol.  I guess Ignorance is bliss and if being more knowladgable turns me into a joyless pew pew like Killjoy I'd rather just stay in my bubble.

Too buff for eyecandy though. He looks like a tank. Great for battle but not so great for my shep to ogle.

YES plz. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]

Seriously
the bicep window made me facepalm. It had zero purpose other than a
weakspot. Grunt's as sexy as my granddad's big toe so yeah...no thanks. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sick.png[/smilie]

Though yes no unnecessary asset shots outside the romance and I'll be happy.

My screenshot folder is better for Zaeed's bare arm =P He's my fave to take along after Wrex in ME1, they're just candy on caps. Kickass bastards.

Okay, that's kind of weak the way you presented it (and the Reave point is kinda dumb), but I think you brought up an important Law Of Gaming:

The more badass you are, the less people will question your wardrobe.

I don't think it's an excuse to show excessive amounts of big and bouncing bare boobies, though.  For example, I can't stand Mortal Kombat because of the stupid outfits.  Guys can be anything from fully clothed to near naked, gorgeous to butt-ugly, with a wide variety of body types, but girls ALWAYS wear revealing outfits and look like perfect supermodels?

The key is to give your female characters just as much thought, variety, and respect in their presentation as your males.  ME1 did this wonderfully (but that could be due to limited technology/resources), ME2 did it decently enough but (camel)toed the line quite a bit (see what I did there), and thanks to Ash's armor, it looks like ME3 will get back in business.

Or if they simply had better camera angles that didn't try to objectify her sexually, which just made the whole thing laughable for me.

Could be worse.  We could have this:

And, hey, Thane and Jacob wore goofy tights, too.

Yes, indeed.

And I'm really happy we now have armor, but people keep insisting on arguing about it. So, I will continue to argue my side of it. lol

Yes, Thane and Jacob were... but

1. Thane's being an assassin and the part where his chest needs to be exposed makes his fine. And it's not like his looked horrible.

2. I hated Jacob's outfit as well... but since he isn't my favorite character, I'm not gonna take up the fight in his name. Know what I mean? lol

See, it's not your character... so you don't care. Same with me and Ashley. I care b/c I love her character. I don't give two ***** about tali, liara, and kasumi. They could not show up in the game and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Well with the fighting game aspect brought in, you can have a musclemountain of a guy and he LOOKS like a person that's never seen the inside of the gym and lives at McDonalds, but that's not so with the female physique at least I've never seen it.

but in ME the men and women DO get the same presentation. Both Cerberus squadmates get skintight spandex and equal ass shots. in ME3 Vega's Tshirt looks like one hulk Hogan would wear (and you most likely know what happens to those) and in both games Every male human is cut like an athelete, even the old dudes like Udina! Why are there no overweight people in space? Everyone's a super model damn!Image IPB

There's also the camera angle "across the bow" on femShep during the ride to Kasumi's LM...
