Most likely based on what? There's no such thing as Spectre ranking that we know of, nor has such a system even been hinted at.

If your armor is proof against another man's weapon, and he has no protection against your weapon, you overwhelm him.
If they were chasing an unarmored foe around for a few minutes they might be on the ground. How fast can you run with 80 lbs of steel and gear and for how long?
Yeah who's going to be stupid enough to stand in front of them to be slaughtered? They are no threat whatsoever. They rode horses for a reason.
Fact is they are slower to turn and you could dash forwards (away from them) then back shield side and before they could stop and react boom flank attack.
You've been playing too many video games and watching too many movies.
Yeah - I'm with Killjoy on this. What you've just described is a game mechanic thats been around since Wolf3d against a certain powersuited leader.
The reality is the vast majority of armour was nowhere near as slowing and weighted as people would believe.

I'm sure it's a ranking system of sorts, though. I can't see it being anything else, especially since N7 is also a ranking.

N7 is an Alliance designation. Spectres aren't Allliance, even if they started there. It's also not a rank: it's a vocational code and proficiency rating. Besides, according to the Codex, the Alliance had already used up the entire alphabet before ME1.

I'll tell you what do something much easier put a ten pound weight in each hand and run. Notice how quickly that tires you. It isn't as constrciting as suit that will impair your breathing and weighs much more.
From wearing simple fencing gear which obviously you never even did it was constrcting hot, uncomfortable, and inhibited movement of arms, and breathing. A few minutes with just an epee weighing 1-2 lbs got you worked up and drenched with sweat with arms fatigued. Plate is worse and a sword and shield creates more drag. Battle stance takes a lot out of you just holding the things upright.

That's actually what I meant, sorry. Not a rank per se, but a sequence of vocational ratings. I think chances are good that's what the S1 symbol is.didymos1120 wrote...

Yes, they are not simmilar, but they have a common style. That is what i meant. Their purpose - making boobs and ass bigger, but not protection. It's crazy for me to see a dancer with an assault rifle in one hand and grenade in other. Ashley is a soldier (at least used to be in ME1-2) and she need a soldier armor. Femshep have one, now Williams will have it too. I only wish that Ashley will have her unique armor, but even now it's better than it was.
Is it crazy for you to a see a giant semi-organic machine race that are insanely intelligent that disappear for 50,000 years and can travel at warp speeds and wipe out entire civilizations of fake aliens?
No? No that's not the crazy part, the crazy part is a female wearing a particular set of clothing. Makes sense.

So, it's going to take an entire trilogy to explain the logic behind Ash's new "stylish" uniform?
Might need it, come to think of it. :innocent:

Well, we know she was a B4. The B is her vocational code which classifies her career path. I doubt she would change from a B to any other letter just by being promoted. If anything, she would just receive a higher number. The biggest change in Ashley is that she is now a Spectre. It stands to reason that with more human Spectres than just Shepard, the Alliance would want to create a new vocational code for it.
Granted, the S could stand for something else. But it just makes sense that the S1 on the armor for the new human Spectre would stand for Spectre - Rank 1.

I love how certain people, when someone doesn't agree with them, immediately say "Oh well obviously you've never done this thing I do and you're ignorant and I win the argument". LoL.
The men who fought in heavy armor in the time period when it mattered did just about everything with muscle power, and for years of their life spent hours a day wearing that kind of gear. They likely built up muscle and endurance that dwarfs what most of us have to do in our modern lives.
In addition, they didn't run around engaging in anime-style running battles. They knew their limits in terms of movement and endurance, and compensated -- by avoiding engaging opponents one-on-one outside of the most controlled of circumstances for example.

You're wrong on so many levels. Here's one link http://www.thearma.o...ys/strength.htm You say my examples and real experience wearing a light armor not even 5 pounds made of cloth are wrong yet outright guess to your benefit and claim correctness. LOL indeed.Killjoy Cutter wrote...

I could also cite health, strength, etc of medieval men and they all would say they are weaker than modern man. I am 5 foot 8 180s or so and can bench max 330 and I am of advanced age that would be dead in middle ages by nearly a decade. I don't even train hard just life weights 8-10 times a month just curls and presses. Someone like Mark Henry can bench 900 lbs and yet would be easily cut down if he lacked skill at fighting. They did not have adequate health and nutritional benefits we have today. Weight training is a veritable science today.
Look at suits of armor they do not accomodate for huge biceps. They have relatively narrow arms since most men of the era were not bristling beasts. Farmers were likely stronger than the average knight since they did back-breaking labor.
Fact is two men wearing plate are not going to be running around but just bashing each other and most wrestled to wear down their opponents to finish. Once that person could not defend then they are done. An unarmored person could easily wear out an armored man. You have not disproven that at all. It is also a myth of how effective knights were on the battlefield given that the plate era was extremely short-lived. The long bow made them obsolete which even an unarmored peasant could slay a heavily armored knight.
The last part is most true they realized the limitations of their armor. It was only useful horsed against peasants or another knight in singles battles. On foot they could be easily overwhelmed and defeated despite superior arms and armor.

Doing so ups humanity's chances of their soliders being selected as Spectres, and all the power/PR benefits that brings. While providing top of the line equipment and personel keeps a Spectre tied to the Alliance once they technically only answer to the Council.
I'm betting Kaidan's alt armour has a S1 symbol too.
