First Im running dragon age origins on pc
Windows 7
AMD Athlon II X3 440 Processor 3.00Ghz
4,00 Gb Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 315
The area loading lag occured mostly in orzammar so this could be area related issue. However crashing occurs randomly throughout the game. And now Im really annoyed to get stuck on a fight, beating them half way and then the game crashing once and then once again. I feel the 1.5 patch might have increased the problems... also as I use the game dvd while playing (which I bought years ago) Im wondering if the problems be relation to its condition. In any case Id be happy with any help and advise.

As Ive receaved no help at all I must update situation a bit that as much as I love dragon age, Im starting to hate it a bit. Ive had about 10 crashes during "the final battle", before actually being able to get to the final battle. These problems started to occure only after the middle game and have gone really bad in the late game. I dont know if there's gonna be anything that can help. whew.. maybe I should try downloading illegal copy online to see if that would work. thou I fear it maybe something else. But I guess if the probably was in the game then other people should have it too.

Maybe if you'd given a bit more info up front, you might have had more luck. E.g. what platform? Retail disc, Steam or....?
http://social.biowar...8/index/7280573 "read first" for a reason!
http://social.biowar...8/index/6265850 lots of solutions for a wide range of problems.
http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613 various DLC issues.
http://social.biowar...8/index/5151520 more DLC issues, especially for Ultimate Edition users.
Then try a fresh thread of your own. Necro-ing old threads is not good.
Failing that http://social.biowar.../58/index/87251 explains where official support can be found.
Help others to help you (i.e. provide more info in the first place). After all, this forum you are in now is user-to-user help. You will see very little from EA/Bioware here. Personally I feel all the issues with Dragon Age overshadow the greatness it could have been. It is of little comfort to think that the only area that still seems to be one of the best in the industry is the writing team. Quality Control seems to be down there with LucasArts some years ago!

DVD version I purchaced from a local store. Mostly crashes during battles and while loading camp. You know what its very "fun" when you buy a "working" copy from a store and then have to read 100 pages of "The most common problems and solutions" to get it work. Right now Ive updated my graphic card drivers and loaded the online version of the game. And guess what now I can hardly get it to even start. Worked 2/20 times. Mostly I just get a black screen with endless loading icon. Installed the online version, 1.05 patch and the witch hunt. As much as I love the game I beginning to really question if its worth the trouble...
And I dont mean to whine to you personally as it probably isnt your fault.

If the game is running worse now (after all the process you have described), my thought would be uninstall what you have and go back to the DVD version.
Expect a few crashes here and there. They occur in fairly predictable sections of the game, and their frequency can be reduced by setting the graphics at a lower setting while in those sections. Save often so that the crashes don't make you lose game progress. I save after each major battle is complete and more often if I find some cool item I don't want to have to backtrack to find again should a crash occur.
Orzammer can have a fairly long load time. Occasionally I will exit the game and restart my computer if I feel the game is sticking longer than normal, but I have learned to give it a bit of time to load. But it is rarely more than 10 or 15 seconds. Slow maybe, but not game-breaking.

I actually did go back to DVD and yes the crashes are back! \\o/ long area loadtimes dont bother me so much than this constant crashing. It might crash during each battle now. Or sometimes it might not. Atleast now at witch hunt it has gone to so bad that its almost every battle. Maybe I should try to play the main game too again to see if crashing has increased there as well. Because there were no problems when I started the game. I set all my game graphical setting to minimul but it didnt help much (or at all). Luckily when I played the baldur's gate I got used to saving after everything I did xP thou I have never had BG crash. But thanks anyway to you both

I was having zero problems with the 1.04 patch but once I patched to the 1.05 my game is crashing too at different times doing different things. It is the PATCH. Best solution is to uninstall, reinstall and do not patch with the 1.05.

thanks for the tip. Ill have to try that too. sad that you just cant play Witch Hunt without 1.05 patch :/ so wasted some money there. Well I hope it will be fixed in the future. For now I started over the main game again. Set the graphic setting to max as well. And look at that, there has been no trouble for few hours and Ive been able to fully enjoy the game play as it was ment to. (Seems like problems start only later on.) Well atleast not untill my windows decided it needed reboot and install some updates without asking me. Im also very happy with that that I havent been really installing any updates for windows for over a year, but now that I finally did today before, it just made my computer run slower... oh brace the all great new updates!
