Here is the my first attempt at putting some game videos together.

I had just gotten to play soldier again for the first time in long time while I did all the other classes.  It had been a while since I did Overlord, but I decided to "film" it anyway.

Soldier (Level 30) - Pure combat - Revenant
Hardened Adrenaline Rush
Squad Disruptor Ammo
Inferno Ammo
Cryo Ammo 1
Shock Trooper
Improved Flashbang

I actually played a fair portion of the late game with squad cryo in lieu of the other ammo choices.  I respec'd because I thought this would be better for Overlord.

This was just going to be for fun, and then ended up as practically a walkthrough or cinematic.  Problematic because I started recording at the cafeteria and had to re-shoot the beginning to make it all inclusive.  Also, screwed up making the first file... copied a segment in Movie Maker, it is annotated and I will replace it with the fixed version when it is done uploading.

Overlord Playlist

If you just want to see action, then you want to watch Hermes Station (pt1), Vulcan Station 2 (pt5), Prometheus Station 2 (pt8), and perhaps Atlas Station 1 and 2 (pt9 and pt10).  I think Hermes, Prometheus 2, and Atlas 2 are probably my favorites with Prometheus 2 at the top.  When I was making Prometheus 2... there is a little comedy relief in the later 2.

Oh and I don't mind criticisms...

I am somewhat disappointed in how they are turning out after processing by youtube. I was uploading wmv's...

If you guys have a suggestion for free video editors I'm all ears. I used Windows Movie Maker for the most part, but I also have Virtual Dub. Unfortunately I don't think you can do all of the random effects in VDub.  Since I am cheap and am just messing with these videos for fun, free is a requirement ;)

I know what you mean, the videos look far inferior after they've been uploaded to youtube. It's always a shame especially if you use high quality settings and take extra time to upload, just to see what a waste of time that was.

But I can't give you any good advice to improve the quality, look at my videos ; ) I use WMM too and suffer the same fate.
Just for reference: what settings do you use (Bitrate)?

That topic helped me tons. I use Kronner's setup personally in my videos.

@strive thats a great link. The only thing I noticed was that when I used windows movie maker make sure to set the aspect ratio to 16:9.

@captain wow, a lot of work for first videos. You can experiment with different settings to get the video to look the best to you ( I modify the settings from time to time ). Gameplay was fun and its interesting to watch different people play thru those missions we have been through many times.

I switched out the first video. The redone one isn't much different.

I did most of those vids in movie maker at 2.1MB/s NTSC or whatever the preset is. This was in the old version of Movie Maker... the Archer dialogue I did directly in Virtual Dub with h264 at a somewhat similar bitrate if I remember.

I downloaded Live Movie Maker since I have Win7 (don't know why I had the old version of MM)... Mordin's mission with ReaveSoldier will be up later... I am using a roundabout way to put it into XVid (Vdub and plugins + random decoders) so the uploads are a little smaller than WMV. It won't be HD but it should look ok in youtube hopefully, and I can get them online in reasonable timeframes.

Maybe I am post whoring...

I am sure most didn't make it all the way through the whole series since it is long and everyone has played this a zillion times.

But I am going to directly link to the end of Atlas 2 just for laughs...

Here

Maybe I ruined the tone of this DLC with my notes... oh well.
