Haven't because Assassins Creed Revelations was more fun and I played that instead. I haven't played Skyrim in about a month.

Hmm, my character is level 10 now...I think that's still a bit too early to become a member of Winterhold, tbh. I think I'll first go to High Hrothgar (sorry if I spelled that wrong) to learn some more Shouts. :D

Level 60 because i'm a explorer and therefore and really slow player to complete quests, just a advice if you want a challenge don't purchase Dremora Lord and have two at once because these guys f*ck up everything.

Uhm I think around level 60-65. I did the Companions first and I finished their quests around level 20.

Then the Dark Brotherhood around level 75 and I'm waiting for a patch in order to finish the Thieves Guild (I'm level 81).

I haven't played a mage character yet. so far my first dunmer thief character has only completed about half the thieves guild, beginning of the main quest, 2 daedric quests and the very first imperial legion initiation quest. That took over 200 hours and got me to level 45.

I took a break from my high level thief and started a 2nd character, a Nord barbarian. So far I have joined the companions and the stormcloaks. Currently level 15 after about 30-40 hours. I've completed only about 20% of the companions quests, the first Stormcloak initiation quest and the main quest up to where you receive the final word of Unrelenting Force.

If the College of Winterhold questline is as long as the thieves guild my guess is it will take about 200-300 hours or so to become archmage, depending on whether I do the main quest and civil war as well or focus only on the college of winterhold. I assume the College questline will send you around to different cities, like the thieves guild quests, so I will probably work in some side quests, miscellaneous objectives, parts of the main quest, etc. I might also try vampirism with my mage character.

So far I haven't played any hybrids, and I'm rolling separate characters to join each of the major factions.

Yes it's just as short as the Thieve's Guild questline.

Short? I thought the "main" TG quest line was short, but if you want to become Guild Master, you have to do 25 additional regular and special "jobs" to get there. That took forever, I thought.

Anyway, the mage quest line was the first one I did, and became Arch Mage somewhere between levels 10-20. I didn't find out until later, here on BSN, that that's not actually the "end". You can continue, and do the mastery stuff.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked down, since there's already a Skyrim one. I'm betting it will be soon.

In that case, In B4 lock.

College of Winterhold was the first guild I joined, hoping to learn more spells than were available from court wizards etc, but even when I finished, all the spells were the same, so I was quite disappointed.

Also disappointed by the fact that 1 day you're an apprentice, 3 dungeon crawls later, you're archmage.

Totally forgot about that but the main quests of the TG were short and for someone to say it takes about 200-300 hours to me sounds like an exaggeration.

I totally agree. If you're counting the time it takes to do them PLUS a zillion other quests, sure. There just isn't enough content for those to take that long by themselves.

We've already got a thread discussing Skyrim. Please take your discussion there. Thank you.

End of line.
