i'm using the FG consistently on a Soldier play through right now and i think i got a 5 pages list of " Flashbang Grenades Aggravations" . But i'm still kinda hooked on it.

Hopefully your practice with the flashbang grenade will pay off in me3.  Are the grenades in ME3 going to bounce like these do?

won't they be more like the grenades in ME1 ?

I just played the engineer in the old demo so I can't comment on that (the one you were able to play at conventions).

I played Thane's recruitment mission and tested out the Viper a bit. It makes it really easy to get up close and just shoot them down.

I'm finally getting the hang of flashbang and what can I say? It's AWESOME :D
So I didn't want to do any side quests and decided to go for the classic Grunt Loyalty first, which was an experience since I discovered that those Klixen are the natural enemy of snipers who are to stupid to zoom.
I will upload the video at a later date.
What I did after finishing Grunt Loyalty was finishing Kasumi's Loyalty mission and that one was really fun.
I think I make quite good use out of flashbang throughout the video and my favorite part is the final fight.
I also fell for the Shepard Charge, just funny to use and if you time a melee attack right, it gets really powerful.

The Collector Ship is finished and I took the widow with me.
Not that much to say here, but if you don't want to see the praetorian encounter, go to 7:40 when the encounter starts.

hmmm I'm kind of spamming my own thread, well who cares.
I finished Samara's recruitment and I didn't take my time there.
So this is a short video, hope you'll enjoy it : )

Just some additional words, first off: thanks for the comments on the videos, it's always nice to get some feedback, although some question my sanity :D
Which is legit btw.

Another topic I wanted to comment on is the "Shepard Charge". I play this game for a while now and I just realized it recently (during the Kasumi run to be specific), Shepard has a charge just like a Krogan.
You use it by simply running into enemies. It does dmg and staggers just like the krogan charge, but it also has a drawback: you can't do anything afterwards for about a second.
That is if you don't "exploit" the gameplay mechanics and make a melee attack right at the moment when you hit the enemy (just like the reload trick, if you hear the impact make a melee attack).
If you asked yourself "How the heck did he kill that Merc at ~8:35 in the Kasumi video with 3/4 of his health left with a melee attack?", well those were actually two attacks.

There is one limitation: if you want to hit an enemy who is standing right in front of cover, you might actually run through him without dealing dmg and get into cover instead, so watch out.

And again, if I tell you something you all already knew: I didn't know it before, so don't hit me : )

LotSB Part 2:
www.youtube.com/watch

This video covers the rest of the mission.

A few things:
Flashbang is a mess on the ship. There are everywhere some slits where the grenade can fall into, cables that block the effect or angles where the grenade bounces off uncontrolled.

The encounter right before the hatch is a mess, just like the hatch fight.
As you should have noticed by now if you watched some of the videos: I often rely on luck.
In the encounter right before the hatch fight, I don't have the luck I like to rely on ; )
Everything goes wrong and in addition to the missing luck I make some stupid mistakes.

The hatch fight is kind of ok and horrible at the same time.
Since the waves get triggered as soon as the last enemy dies I thought "well let's move out while the last one is still alive and get in position, those two should be able to handle one enemy..."
Well they're not. At least not if the enemy is a half protected vanguard.
The second time that happens - yes it happened two times - was at least because I thought "Well she should slide down the side...".
Can you see a pattern there? Yes, I tend to rely on luck : )

And I often run out of ammo. I get that tunnel vision when I'm in a fight and often miss the ammo lying around because of that.

^ I was expecting a disaster when I read your disclaimer above, but in the video you are very aggressive in the hatch fight - kill the guys as they come out of the ship - reminds me of Mi-Chan's claymore soldier hatch defense. Of course you do run out of ammo in the hatch fight and pick up the shotgun ( probably your natural weapon ). Also on the Broker - you did not have to shoot him in the toes like I did with my widow soldier. I think your picture should be a cat instead of a salarian, because you have 9 lives :) Fun video to watch.

I'm liking this schitzy awkward melding of Widow and quasi-Claymore soldier. That Widow is so not being used as intended by the manufacturer, lol.

Never really recognized the Shepard charge thing was usable. I should do some experimenting on that as well.

You make it sound like you were terrible and the video is bad, which isn't the case.

The only thing that I noticed, and couldn't help myself from commenting on was the ammo powers. I would have run Squad Disruptor and then spent the 2500 in eezo for Retrain Powers after accumulating enough points for Squad Cryo. I mentioned this before, and don't want to beat a dead horse, but it would have been more useful. Especially as you went to Disruptor on the Widow for the hatch fight and inside the ship.

Somewhat related was that when you ran out of ammo on the Widow before that you took out the Scimitar... and it had no ammo power active. I thought that was sort of ironic considering you were running Cryo on the Widow and then get out one of the best weapons for it and it wasn't active. Gotta waste the time at the beginning of the mission turning them on for all the guns :)

I tend to be very critical with my videos and you all didn't see my first few runs where I failed. I remember vividly how I spent at least a minute just throwing flashbangs during the first merc encounter without hitting a single time ^^
I wish I could handle the hatch fight as Mi-Chan did
I don't have a problem with my hatch fight itself, it's ok but that stupid waiting and backtracking just annoyed me so much... I was sure I would die so I thought "Ah well, let's check out patterns" and just kept on pulling through.

And of course you are right about my ammo powers capn. I don't want to respec but I should use the powers that help me and not the ones I adore so much : )
Using ammo powers on all weapons in the beginning is something I always forget ...

oh and the shepard charge is awesome and can help a lot, especially if you nail the skip melee attack. I get it to work most of the times so that means it's easy ; )

I cannot tell if you are insanely brilliant or just insane, but it makes for some wickedly awesome videos. I am absolutely enjoying this series.

 And now is the time where my brain goes "beep beep beep beep, back away, back away, beep beep beep beep, back away, back away" :P

There's a trick to the rhytm though. The next wave doesn't start spawning until you kill the last mook, which can be manipulated to your advantage. I've managed to get all but the last wave killed before they left the hatch (and I can't for the life of me, extend the lifespan of any of the third wave mooks), and it's really more of an exercise in patience rather than skill.

The only skill-part is the first charge where you have to cover a lot of ground ASAP. Then shoot the guy under A rush and use the slowdown to move on to the guys behind him. At this points the rocket mooks have spawned - get over there with A rush and hope for a firedance.

Now is the point where it gets iffy. You can kill the Vanguard and fight the next wave, OR you can run away like a little girl and hope your squad takes care of her (the patience/luck part - your squadmates have a mental deficiency that makes them forget that bullets hurt <_<:P). With proper squad placement they will wittle away at her while you place yourself at the next hatch (the one to the RIGHT - An engineer pops out there, and gently caress enemy drones. Gentry caress enemy drones). Do the usual claymore-dance and preserve A rush for rushing to the next hatch when someone thinks joining the fight is a good idea, and prove him wrong.

Rocket drones - Whittle away and stasis the last one. Use the extra time to place yourself at the hatch closest to the electricity-thing to reload-trick the vanguard to death. Pop A rush and make a decision. The hatch in the back has more firepower, but the hatch to the left has an Engineer.

And this is where my knowledge of the wave-system ends as I haven't found a way to get set up at the fourth wave. Probably doesn't matter as the drones would get you killed.

And it's not even skill or anything, it's just memorizing how the wave-system works in your favor, and how the AI gets retarted if you try to hug it.

I wouldn't suggest doing this yourself, but Cao is equal parts brilliant and insane, so who knows what he'll do with this knowledge?

...

You'll end up reloading quite a few times... :?...:(... All those rockets and drones...:crying:

I pretty much failed at trying to do it like this ; )
And the third and fourth merc wave (not counting the drones in between) are huge and there are simultaneous spawns sooo... on a perfect day with Fortuna smiling on you, it might work.

But I doubt I'm patient enough to try that for maybe days.

Something not that related to this thread, the aggressive sniper quarian:
www.youtube.com/watch

Scenes out of a Bronze coop match, the Viper is WAY too accurate.
And yes I'm aware that's it not nice to play like this in a multiplayer match ^^
This was the first time I gave it a try and I don't intend to do it again so soon.

Edit: Oh and you got to love those little "Press right mouse button to aim" warnings at the bottom of the screen that pop up from time to time.

You know you really should warn your teammates that you are pretty crazy when you start a MP match, otherwise they might think you are either on something illegal, *cough* smoking something *cough*, or you really just can't find the right mouse button, lol.

You can still finish the mission even if you cancel Weyrloc Guld. Well, at least I was able to. I know every now and then, even when Weyrloc Guld spawns, that the game will not let you exit the mission after the Mordin-Maelon conflict. A reload usually fixes it.

Flashbang barely works here and that's a shame.
But it was a lot of fun to play the game again. The Simple Shep vid was recorded months ago and I just had to put all the pieces together, but this one is fresh : )

This series is just ridiculously fun to watch. While the Claymore would be better, that would be missing the point and would not be as brilliantly insane. I only wish I had your combination of skill + luck (and possibly patience depending on number of attempts) to even try something like this.

Keep up the great work!
