360. that's where it started that's whre it'll end for me.

In my case it's the PC. I started 2008 with ME ^^

I really wonder if the next ME series is going to be released for next gen X-Box plus PC ... :)

Watch Ea will want origin on both 360 and PS3. oh god that would suck.

Okay, from now on let's keep the Origin talk to the bare minnimum, we don't want to see anyone come in here and start raeging about Origin from what one of us has said.

Yes or else this thread will be shut down!! Anyway most fans have said that Dragon Age Origins was meant for the PC but how about Mass Effect? I think ME1 would have been more suitable for pc while I think Mass Effect 2 leaned more on console players considering the simplified controls and upgrading.

I say PC:

- You get all of your content and all DLC
- can Mod the Game if wishing to do so (helped me a lot with the mining tediousness before the update fixing that nuisance).
- Mouse is always more precise in control than a joystick controller.
- Can create new flags/characters without playing the entire game through in ME1 (never my own choice, but some people like this option).
- System will always be able to play the game (old consoles eventually die, computers live forever with adaptation).
- Graphics are better on PC

Overall the only issues with PC gaming are the accursed DRM hoop jumping and the Internet Connectivity requirement.which I say are small prices to pay for so many advantages.

Xbox 360.

I traded in my Xbox 360 cause Mass Effect 2 came out on PS3. I regret it. The PS3 version didn't start off bad but it got there, happens I guess. I'm hoping the PS3 version of Mass Effect 3 won't have the same issues.

The best platform is always the one you share with a half dozen hot chicks and tubs full of buffalo chicken.

Are there even any contest? PC all the way.

You can get both of the games on Steam for $5 each during the sale. Though I think the Steam version have problems with TexMod? Are there any solution to this problem?

I'll try to be as objective as possible but I'll give away from the beginning that I'm a PC gamer and probably biased.

All copies on all platforms have flaws. I'll give you the flaws of each version and then you can decide which you can live with the most.

ME1

PC

Garrus has low-res face (can be fixed with ini tweak)

EAX hardware required to get surround sound

Xbox 360

Low framerates. During combat framerates go down to 18 frames per second, sometimes lower

PS3

Does not exist.

ME2

PC

More glitches than 360 version (texture clipping on Presidium, Tuchanka), ghosting in Garrus loyalty mission.

Texture quality below PC standards and armor textures are often even lower-res than in ME1.

Though BioWare doesn't admit it this is obviously a console port. No menu shortcuts for journal and codex, no mouse wheel and double click support in menus.

Other than higher framerates and resolution the graphics are not upgraded from Xbox version.

Xbox 360

Can't think of anything besides the expected lower framerates and resolution.

PS3

Audio cut-off

No import feature

ME3

Too early to tell.

Mass Effect is the best to play on Xbox, it originally started out on Xbox. PC okay and PS3 only have 2 and 3. I have all I prefer playing on Xbox that why I ordered the collectors for Xbox 360.

this for steam users, I have to use it.

PC version of ME2 had the best glitches. I had Tim stare at me throguth the roof during the SM oh it was crepply perfect.

Xbox or PC. PC if your computer can handle it and want sweet graphics. Xbox if you like to use a controller or want no origin. PS3 doesn't have ME1 so I would't consider it the best choice with the Mass Effect series.

Exactly this.

Since I'm a college student and only have a netbook, I use my boyfriend's 360 to play and I'm pretty satisfied with my experience with it. But giving it a try on my parents' custom built PC was incredible. The loading times were basically non-existent, and I love having the option to mod. So if money and Origin weren't factors, I'd be playing PC all the way.

I don't understand all the Origin talk. The first two in the series don't require it and we don't know about ME3 yet.

They said ME2 on the PS3 uses the ME3 engine but that was later corrected by a BioWare dev. Some of the lighting has changed making the game look a bit different but not better.

Why NOT PS3: You'll miss a lot of decisions fron ME1.
Why NOT PC: Origin, 'nuff said.

Get a new Xbox360.

Since you already have the Xbox360 DLC, I don't see any reason why you should go for the PS3, especially since it doesn't have ME1.

So, get a new Xbox360 and start playing Mass Effect once again!

Well, most mainstream current PCs can handle it. UE3 isn't very demanding. But yes, origin can be a deal breaker for OP if he/she don't like it.

Origin is not a factor in either Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2 for the PC. It didn't exist when Mass Effect was released and It was not in its present form when Mass Effect 2 was released.

Yes but I assume the OP wants to import his ME1/ME2 character in ME3.

ME3 (most likely) does require Origin. So Origin certainly is a factor for his decision.

If you want the experience and choice of ME1, in your case I would go with the 360 since you have already invested in DLC for that platform and I assume still own the first two games. Additionally, Kinect features in ME3 could be fun.

I play 360 and enjoy it very much. Never been one for PC and how they work with gaming. Always loved 360 controls and my TV.

This sums thing up well. The only thing I'd add is that I was stunned to read only recently that you can't elevate the Mako's gun in the Xbox 360 version of ME1. If that's true, that's awful.

As other posts say, the PC requirements aren't strenous.

You can move the gun all around the top and the level(plain) mako is on. just not too far below it.

Xbox 360. Because I say so.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. Just go with whichever you're most comfortable with and you'll be fine. I tried playing ME1 on PC but couldn't get into it, as much as I love it.

PS3....No ME1...disqualified

PC....ME3 will most likely require you to install Origin which allows EA to monitor everything on your PC even private things like tax documents and make a profile of you, basically spyware...disqualified

Xbox360....no real downside really as long as you have the common sense to back up your saves, I have my saves copied to 2 storage devices and my PC....greenlight, get this version.
