Well, I use a laptop too, but I hope it will do good with ME3. Which GPU does your laptop have?Northernian wrote...
I don't think my PC could handle ME3's improved graphics and memory requirements. On top of that I use laptop, and optimisation is very limited. So I will shift to Xbox to have a smooth ME3 experience. Cheaper than updating the VGA card or CPU.
Best platform to play Mass Effect series!

But as a gamer who enjoys story and intense action, I just cannot find intense action sitting in a computer chair on a keyboard, compared to using a controller. Personal preference though, so I guess it's irrelevant to your decision.

360 would second on the list because of the Mass Effect 1 inclusion and the lack of lag and stutter in the PS3 version.

AMD Athlon II x64 Dual Core 2.2 Ghz. It runs ME2 fine, but I reckon I would require one of those new quadcore CPUs to run ME3.

However, because of my bad experience with Origin and the Origin Store earlier this year, I decided to only pre-order the Xbox 360 version of ME3. If Bioware announces that the PC version of ME3 won't involve Origin then I'll buy the PC version of ME3 as well. If Origin is a requirement for the PC version then I'll just stick to the Xbox 360.

I asked about the GPU my friend, because that's what matters more than the CPU. My laptop has Mobility Radeon 5650, which is somewhat lower mainstream and can run most games.Northernian wrote...

Get a discrete graphics card (and a decent one, like Radeon 6870, which works out of the box with Macs) in your Mac (if it is a desktop) to play at high details. If it is not a desktop, you may buy one. If you don't want to buy one, then you are stuck with what you have.yesikareyes wrote...

PS2?DiebytheSword wrote...
Both pale in comparison to the might of the PC, that aside, there is no ME1 for PS2, and not all the choices are covered in the Genesis comic. So if you want your ME1 stuff to count for little cameos and such all the way into ME3, I would suggest the Xbox one.

ME2 looks better than ME1 and it runs smoother on the same PC hardware. Who says ME3 won't also be optimized? As far as I can tell the graphics don't look much better anyway.Northernian wrote...

So I think many of you PC gamers including me who are not sure whether their PCs could handle ME3 fine or not first need to try the demo when it comes out.

Okay, so I accidentally deleted all my save files for Mass Effect 1 and 2 in my Xbox 360 in an attempt to transfer my files into a external hard drive. Long story short, I was in grief for a long period of time because I have invested so much of my time and effort for those games. I sold my 360 (it's the old white one that does those red rings from time to time) because I am reminded of the pain. Back to my point, as Mass Effect 3 is nearing and without my save files... I basically am going to start from the very beginning! Would it be adviseable to continue playing it on the 360 (buying the black one) where I have all the DLCs already? or just buy a PS3 and Mass Effect 2 and 3 since I heard that the graphics are way "better"? (I think there is an edition where all the DLCs are included).
Okay...
Go with the Xbox since you already have both games, unless you were silly enough to sell them too, and the dlc. Why throw your money away by buying a PS3 just for this series which doesn't have both games?! You're already wasting your money buy buying the same console twice but at least you'll save money on the dlc you already bought.

Oh, I see. Well 4250 is a weak GPU. Well, lets see how it fares against ME3.Northernian wrote...
The problem is my graphics card is HD Radeon 4250 and its an integrated one. It runs most recenty games fine, but for example in ME2 the fps was very slow in the last human-reaper battle, the last section of Garrus' loyalty mission (the part when Harkin sent the heavy mechs). So there are some parts like this, in addition to some conversations where I experience low fps. ME 2 has better optimisation than ME 1 though.
So I think many of you PC gamers including me who are not sure whether their PCs could handle ME3 fine or not first need to try the demo when it comes out.

HD 3000 will still run ME2 though. It can run both ME1 and ME2 on low at 30fps (same framerate as the console versions). So if he's looking for it to at least run, he's good. A new graphics card is a must, though.robarcool wrote...

For those who have a computer and a console and are wondering about upgrading due to expense, just remember that it's much more costly to buy a computer and a console than it is to simply build/upgrade a computer to a pretty good gaming spec.

Xbox 360 PS3 (from what has been said) No discernible difference in graphic/audio/video quality.
People will likely split hairs over one thing or another, but mostly, it'll look the same within minute details of difference between the three different systems..
If you want to play for the story though; PC and 360 have story, but it (splitting hairs) looks slightly better on 360.
PC's have the broadest contrast, they can be either the best, or the worst in all catagories, depending on hardware.
Then there's the cost, which will always be said that PC's are cheaper, those people usually discount the fact that they payed probably somewhere around +1000 for their rig, while Consolers payed (myself) $300, to play exactly the same game (which they get for $10 less.)
