I'm wondering. Do people really expect to be able to save everyone in a Galactic war against a nigh unstoppable enemy?
Nobody who has played Mass Effect 1 and has a brain (Well, you have one if you played ME1 and paid attention) thinks that.
ME3: More emotional?

It was more of a question for why do some people think Shepard can save everyone and that Bioware should give them that choice? It would make the game a little underwhelming since no actual sacrifices were made.

In the leak, there is one scene in particular (it's a death scene, but I won't say whose) that really stood out to me as being emotional.

Really, Bioware already said it is a galactic war and we are going to lose people. It is not a spoiler.

Now to the op ME3 seems to be the true dark act of the Mass effect series. ME2 didn't really get there but it was darker than ME1.
This game basically shows us the true threat of the Reaper invasion and it represents how weak we are in comparison to the Reaper threat. The first act of the conflict the Reapers attack the 2 military powers homeworld (Palaven and Earth) and utterly devastates it with little resistance. Millions died incredibly quickly and too make it more personnel they needed the kid to represent what Shepard is fighting for and what Shepard can easily lose.
Personally character deaths will ****** me off especially those that I really really like but is understandable. Although a Virmire situation would make it better since it gives people a way to choose. It would still be emotional and show that no matter how hard Shepard tries Shep will still lose people.
Unfortunately that is war.
Well said. I think that is a rather good summary of how powerful the story is indeed likley to be. As this is what it has all been building towards.

Some people are bringing up specific events in the game that they could only know about from the script. Not everyone read the script or wants to know these things.TheDarkRats wrote...

Petty insults? No. Just stating a fact. If you find that offensive, I think you're being a little hypersensitive.
-Play ME1, hear how unstoppable Reapers are from Vigil.
-See Sovereign waste Citadel fleet.
-If you haven't played ME1, you wouldn't know.
-If you didn't pay attention, please grow a brain, and replay it. You're missing out.

I almost got banned throwing out one insult towards Quole but he throws out several a day and I still see him posting. Same with Quole too actually. I guess you have to be a jerk regularly to get away with it. I sense a bit of a double standard going on here.1136342t54 wrote...

I would agree with you if said person hadn't read something Bioware had already announced. "Could only know about from the script." is exactly NOT what I was saying. Bioware has said people would die. Someone got mad because someone else said that they saw people die in the script.jreezy wrote...

Yeah I didn't get too spoiled but someone was being very vague and did basically unintentionally spoil me. It wasn't much of a spoiler but still it shows that no matter how vague you want to be it can still be a pretty big spoiler.

Yeah I don't insult people much on this forum. It seems when I do at times I am more likely to be banned while others can just continue with it. It is possible its a double standard but it makes it difficult to not respond to a idiotic BSN poster and explain to him or her how stupid they really are lol.
Sadly I have to be polite.

Not necessarily true. There could be PS3 players who watched Let's Play ME1 videos on Youtube to get the gist of the story.

Totally one that you're embracing. Wait, following someone around the forums and insulting them because they're not a fan of ME3 and their opinion doesn't agree with yours? That's not wrong, is it?
To bring the thread back on-topic, I don't think the ME3 ending will be nearly as emotional as this.
