It's sad how all the fun threads get locked so fast while all the ones filled with people insulting each other for 60 pages (I'm looking at you, Cerberus threads) manage to thrive.

Fun threads are mostly off topic. The threads that involve arguments usually stay on topic.

I know, but it doesn't make it any less sad.

Agreed. I prefer fewer insults and more fun and games, but that's seldom on topic. Ah well.

What is fun is taking an angry thread or a troll thread and derailing it and filling it with nonsense. There was this one thread we did it to a few weeks back, and it was glorious.

I like the fact shep is not only acting human but feeling as well. I'm tired of the stoic hero shep its about time they showed shep the man/woman including emotion, faults, and them being able to fail in various ways. I also hope they get the body language on board as well I don't want shep to emotionally look one way but the body still saying I'm a brick. They have mshep getting to finally have inflection and feeling in his voice I assume fshep will too. But to be simple brick sheps gotta go.

I've missed most of the good stuff this month because Skyrim stole my life. :?

Topically, I rather enjoyed Lair of the Shadowbroker for the scene where Shepard is allowed to vent, and lean on someone else for a change. It was the first time where I connected with Shep as a character, as opposed to my agent provocatuer.

I agree. In LotSB, I actually chose the "survial" option for one playthru...and I quite liked it.

Shepard went on abt. how everything from mercs to varren were trying to kill her. And how sum days it seems like the whole galaxy is trying to kill her.

Shepard is just a person thrown into extraodinary situations. It's got to get hard always being the friggin' hero of the galaxy.. An icon and all. No pressure, right?

It was interesting, tho. In the Kasumi DLC at the party--there was sum NPC's talking. One of them was saying how she heard that Shepard had survived the Normandy crash...etc.  Then she said abt. Shep..,"Freak". Wow.

I would like to expect more of that because...really..it is freakish what Cerberus did in resurecting Shep.

Does Shep ever feel that?

Well said and for the record ...

"So we're kind of being able to look into Shepard's soul." - Mac Walters

or not.

"You don't have to, you can just be like "I'm off to kill things!" - Mac Walters

from Newsarama interview toward the end of the article.

If the video snippets we've seen so far are any indication, I think they are on the right track with Shepard showing/experiencing more emotion.

I've always kind of wanted to see what those other two responses were like, but the little conversation Liara has with Shep about his/her LI is too cute for me not to pick that option (at least the ones regarding the LIs I go with are). Of course, those were a pretty good example of Shepard showing a bit of emotion too.

The scene in question would have had more impact if the kid was replaced by a woman imo. But I still appreciate the effort of the writers to put an emotional scene right in the beginning.

Beacuse it *can* be hard for adults to empathize with children any different than they empathize with a cuddly puppy. The tactic can come across as...words fail me now. Too sacharine, or melodramatic.

I'd say that most adults that have kids themselves are able to empathize with the kid.

And your "woman in jeopardy" scenario doesn't run the risk of turning people off?

I don't blame you. I would, too. but my LI is never mentioned by Liara. I don't really understand that. Liara was in M E1. Now she's SB. She knows what's up...but...whatever...

Most people playing ME3 do not have children though, I'm guessing. I know I don't.

You don't need kids to see that part is sad.

True.

I'd guess it's more of a personal preference.

We've seen and heard of people watering up over that scene a lot.

Obviously not; after all, it's not like Shepard has (or is ever going to have, in most of my playthroughs) kids, and he/she still feels sad.
