I don't blame you. I would, too. but my LI is never mentioned by Liara. I don't really understand that. Liara was in M E1. Now she's SB. She knows what's up...but...whatever...

She mentions Kaidan, but only if Shepard picks the complaining/negative response. :?

^That bit of Shepard's face just....:crying::crying::crying::crying: If the rest of the game is like that, I will be playing with a box of tissues beside me.

I'd say that most adults that have kids themselves are able to empathize with the kid.

Most people playing ME3 do not have children though, I'm guessing. I know I don't.

Guess again. There's a good chunk of us "mature" gamers.

The kid scene resonated with me, because he's about my daughter's age, and I can't imagine how badly she'd handle it.

I also completely agree that parent =/= mature and vice versa.  I've seen a lot of kids grow up in the custody of kids, and a lot of kids become adults because they had kids of their own.  Sadly your body is always ready before you are.

In that case, you'll probably by crying plenty in ME3; one part in particular really got me feeling:crying:, and I was just reading the fragmented, hard-to-follow leaked script, let alone seeing it in-game. I'd go into more details, but I'm afraid of the spoiler police.:?

Well, okay, by mature I mean old. Obviously not all older people have kids, but every one of us was/is one. It really shouldn't be difficult to identify with that pain at the loss of life regardless of whether you have reproduced or not.

Mature = able to own up to one's action, acting responsibile, and knowing when treat other with respect. Now how many times have you seen this on BSN?

I thought I did once, but then it turned out that they were sarcastically trolling.

I fully expect to. DA2 brought me to tears, and so did the ending of ME1. I've read some of the leaked script and...yeah. :crying: It'll be a good pain though.

Why?

Beacuse it *can* be hard for adults to empathise with children any different than they empathize with a cuddly puppy. The tactic can come across as...words fail me now. Too sacharine, or melodramatic.

And your "woman in jeopardy" scenario doesn't run the risk of turning people off?

It does and maybe that's the point. Or maybe Shepard shouldn't react like he does when he sees the shuttle blow up. Maybe he should get steely eyed and march right back into the ship. That might leave the viewer asking 'holy sh*t what is this guy made of?' He is a marine afterall.

The point is, certain devices can seem, well, obvious.

Yeah, that scene I was thinking of was probably my favourite scene in the leak. Sad, but definitely in a good way.

What was sad about the ending of ME1 though?

The scene with Frankenmom. It made me do the ugly cry because my Hawke couldn't fix it and was devastated. :(

Not so much sad, per se, just incredibly touching at the expression on Kaidan's face right before FemShep crawls out of the rubble. It was just a powerful moment to me. Bekkael is an utter sap.

I guess I can't really relate to that very well. My favourite character isn't exactly known for her touching in-game facial expressions.

Neither is my two. Wrex is a ba, he has no emotions, and Tali you can't tell what she is doing.

But dose kaiden really get all sappy during that scean? never brought him.
