Playing Adept/Insanity isn't hard, it's just annoying.

Hah with your Reave Soldier you got lots of options. Your Reave should be able to strip groups of em. I'd bring Mordin with Jack and go bowling with Jack.

Garrus?  I don't think I've ever taken him aboard, except maybe a low-level playthrough to hear what he says at the dragon teeth.  Doesn't Zaeed give out better damage?

Yeah Zaeed has better weapons damage... It might depend what his passive is versus what Garrus has for AP ammo.

Garrus adds +20% Style bonus though.

When I do my IFF vid I will have to take some of the underappreciated squadmates.

Zaeed's passive evolutions provide him +37.5% and +50% weapon damage. Garrus's passive (forget which evolution) gives him +25% weapon damage. AP Ammo, like all ammo powers, is based off the base weapon damage. So Garrus with Tungsten Ammo (70% damage) + 25% weapon is not as strong as 37.5%, much less 50% weapon passive of Zaeed.

But Garrus does have that undocumented style bonus, though, so it all evens out at the end. :D

Edit: See here about squad weapon damage modifers:

I understand how that works, but if Zaeed has no pts in passive and Garrus has Tungsten, for example, then Garrus does more damage.  I doubt they will ever be spec'ed like that but it is possible to do.

Since we are being technical, if you have no weapon damage upgrades than it takes longer for Zaeed to catch up with AP ammo... another extremely rare scenario, especially by Reaper IFF but possible.

Even without weapon damage upgrades, Zaeed's passive should still be better than Garrus with AP Ammo. And as for the Reaper IFF, Thane would be better than both Zaeed and Garrus since Thane has the same weapon passives as Zaeed, but also has Warp and Throw.

That isn't always the case.

Simplest case... Zaeed has no pts in passive. Any amount of AP ammo is better than that.

They made the weapon damage overly convoluted since they created a "power" half and "weapon" half to each shot. The ammo is of course in the power part, with equipment, and passives are in the other part. Both are base damage times multipliers, but it is the second part that contains upgrades and the multipliers for protection. If Zaeed is rank 1 the second part gets a 12.5% added in,

Damage_Per_Shot_vsDefence = B * ( 1+ BonusPowerMod1+..)* AmmoDmgMod * AmmoVsDefenceModifier + + B * (1+DamageMod1+..+HeadShotBonus^+RangeMod) * WpnVsDefenceModifier.

Mantis base 263.1; squad .55, armor 1.5 multipliers

Body shot, armor

Garrus, Tungsten... no points in passive (his power damage would affect ammo power...)
Damage_Per_Shot_vsDefence = .55*263.1 * ( 1+ 0)* .7 * 1 + .55*263.1 * (1+0) * 1.5 = 101.2935+217.0575 = 318.351

Zaeed rank 1 passive, no ammo
Damage_Per_Shot_vsDefence = .55*263.1 * ( 1+ 0)* 0 * 1 + .55*263.1 * (1+ .125) * 1.5 = 0 + 244.1896875

If I have screwed this up let me know.... if they are getting headshots, that changes it a little. If Miri is there, that again moves it more in Zaeed's favor. Like I said, Garrus's passive helps his a little.  The armor multiplier from the Mantis is the only thing that keeps it close without upgrades... no distance modifier with sniper rifles right?

edit....

Headshots, armor
Garrus, Tungsten... no points in passive (his power damage would affect ammo power...)
Damage_Per_Shot_vsDefence = .55*263.1 * ( 1+ 0)* .7 * 1 + .55*263.1 * (1+.5) * 1.5 = 101.2935 +  325.58625 = 426.87975

Zaeed rank 1 passive, no ammo
Damage_Per_Shot_vsDefence = .55*263.1 * ( 1+ 0)* 0 * 1 + .55*263.1 * (1+ .125+.5) * 1.5 = 0 + 352.7184375

Nerds.

Anyway, I always think it's funny when I nuke the Reaper Core, yet there are still husks alive. During the cut scene about Legion, there are a mob of husks all attacking Shepard. You even get controller feedback.

There's a point in Assassin's Creed 2 where something similar can happen (you can trigger a cutscene while enemies are attacking you); I ended up dying during the cutscene. !@#!*($@!

Legion loyalty was a snap with Garrus + Area Drain.  Now I have to take a shuttle to my next location, what could possibly go wrong?

Ha.

It was all academic. Hardly anyone would set them up like that anyway. Practically speaking Zaeed does more damage in "real life" situations unless you have odd builds and basically no upgrades.

As for Legion's mission, I think the only 2 I have ever taken on it were Garrus and Tali. I like 3 marksmen for the "We must hold this room" part. That's a good "defend the saloon" type situation.

Garrus is awesome there. Tali is fun for dual-drone action, but you really don't need that as an Adept.

Best bonus power for Suicide Mission - Warp Ammo?

I took Warp Ammo on my Adept after the early game (where I had barrier).

I don't know that it is the best, it worked for me.  You already have so many other powers a set and forget one isn't bad.  Adept is practically the only class I like Warp ammo on.  The other being Infiltrator trying to one shot Harbie or something.

Stasis is a one pt wonder though.

Neural shock if you want a tech power.

Woot, made it. One death at the Oculus fight, used medigel once to revive Samara during the Long Walk.

Now I'm wondering if I want to try Arrival...

Oculus fight - almost nobody talks about that, but it can give you trouble.

With Soldier its pretty easy - Widow or Claymore or Revenant under Arush
Sentinel - bring Samara + Thane and use squad reset to warp/reave it to death
Infiltrator ( Don't remember, last run was over a year ago )
Adept - I think I ended up using the Cain on that sucker - what can I say, got tired of getting fried.
Vanguard - claymore + Legion with widow + Thane with incisor
Engineer - I think I used Incinerate + Samara + Thane

btw, if you have not tried Arrival, then you should do it.  There are a lot of videos posted in the Kronner thread with different Adept builds for the Rho fight.

I almost always take Garrus and Legion to fight the Occulus.

Just because I do. And I like "It would appear to be terminated. Permanently."

I took Legion and Grunt (because Grunt hadn't been used outside his loyalty mission and was getting bored.)

First wave, got Legion's drone to distract the Oculus while I Cain'ed it.  Second wave, just sat in the back watching Legion and Grunt hack away at it while I cast Heavy Warp.

I did end up casting Stasis on the Human Reaper - that was... odd.

Oh, I should say favorite moment of the loyalty missions - managed to get Garrus and myself up the ramps at the end of his loyalty mission during the dual YMIR battle (in the area where you cannot get flanked.)

After whittling down the YMIRs with Overload/Energy Drain/Warp, then down to health, Garrus uses his Incisor to get the final headshot.  That's my boy.  :wub:
