Yeah call me when Japanese games actually change and stop being stagnant in the same sort of gameplay years. Hell Bioware may make changes to games in which obviously some of them I won't like but at least they try something dammit!

How the hell is Demons/Dark Souls gameplay stagnant and indicitave of ****** games from the past ?

You talk about stagnant gameplay, yet Beth & Skyrim are huge culprits of this, not Dark Souls.  I don't get it.  Have you even played Dark/Demons Souls ?

I wasn't talking about Dark souls or Demon Souls at all.

Mass Effect 3. From what I've been seeing from it and hearing it is likely going to be rather awesome.

Well since Mass Effect 3 is the last of the trilogy and I've made all these seemingly important decisions in the first two games, I hope it's Mass Effect 3.

That would mean the choices had actual, substanative rewards/consequences and that the final conclusion was not underwhelming.

There isn't really any competition for ME3. TW2 will be coming out around the same time on consoles, but it has a much smaller fanbase and it's a different genre.

I may have quoted the wrong one but look at his other posts on this thread.

Long winded posts about how terrible the game is and he has yet to say anything positive about anything else.

I did say the exploration was good, btw. (except for the dungeons)  And God forbid anyone point out any negatives in a game that ppl are ****** over like It's the pinnicale of RPGs of something. (most of who's first RPG ever was probably Oblivious or something)

Lol,  It's not like you have to agree with me.  It's just coming from a different percpective, that's all.  Must everything be a continuous circle jerk of praise, with no other types of opinions allowed ?

Eh it just seemed like you came in here just to hate on it.  Kind of like Gatt uses the RPG argument to discredit anything he doesn't like.
I have no problem with you criticing the game hell hate if you want.  Just bugs me when people use lame excuses like "its not an RPG" to make it look worse than it is.
Also I bet Dark Souls is awesome but Demon Souls pisses me off too much to continue playing it so I don't know if I'll ever get Dark Souls.

Eh I'll likely get it eventually. I already have plenty of games to keep me entertained until then. Hell I might eventually get SWTOR. Although from what I have seen from it it could likely be a game of the year contender.

Please don't hit me with a rotten tomato, but the more I learn about the South Park RPG, the more interested I become.

*puts on flame retardant suit*

Other 2012 games I've been looking forward to: Bioshock Infinite, ME3, possibly Kingdoms of Amalur but still not quite sure about this last one.

Don't be afraid I'm interested as well.
Hell I think the only people who are against it just don't get South Park.  Its a smarter show then people give it credit for.

I know It's wishful thinking that Dead State or Age of Decadence will see the light of day in 2012, but those would be my picks anyway.  Hopefully PB doesn't **** up Risen 2 also.

Rockworm- Don't LIKE South Park you mean.  I get it, but like most JRPGs, the artstyle alone is enough to keep me away from it.

Oh yes, forgot about Risen 2 coming in April.

Haven't played the first one, but I hear good things about it. I gather Risen 2 will be essentially a story about pirates?

Dead State also looks interesting but I suspect it will be a 2013 release.

I think Rachael was pretty on with her Skyrim review www.youtube.com/watch

Skyrim is a Cocaine game.  lol

The review was actually pretty bad . She was whining and whining. It's was not a review at all.
When you do a review  .. You don't whine or 'complain' . You state what could be improved and why you think  it's should be improved. Not just - GEEZ MAN I hate that it's ugly!!

When she started with the whole ' I don't  understand or know what to do and the dragon cry thing? I don't understand it either !!! At this point I just closed the video. I`m pretty sure she was roleplaying the stereotype blonde.

The texture in some occasion do look bad but it's blend well with the art style and atmosphere of the game. The Skill Menu was mad elike this for a reason. The dev probably did not want to give the player 'tunnel vision ' syndrome when building their avatar . It's not a MMO or a linear RPG . Ah but forget about it. Why should I explain the obvious?

The dev that build the 'skill' system probably ain't dumb and there's a reason behind their choice.. A lot of ppl should just avoid doing review  .. because complaining on xbox live ain't the same thing. She's out of her league.

The South Park rpg sounds great and Obsidian is awesome for doing this. Kingdoms of Amalur is looking really really good. Talent system, a good crafting system and even better a variety of environments not just one huge forest. Bethesda should seriously steal some ideas from them. Now though I'll be playing Old Republic for maybe the next several years so I doubt I'll even bother buying anything.

Yea, it wasn't amazing or anything.  But her overall jist of the game, with nothing particular being well done, i agreed with.  It's quantity over quality with Bethesda.  She's right about that.

wow they let anyone with a camera be a reviewer at this point.
She wasn't paying attention to any of the story so she's like "I have these dragon shout things but why?"

My Game of the Year comes from a small selection of games because I don't play that many. Dragon Age 2, Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Skyrim... I came up with a reasonable excuse for why none of them were my game of the year.

Dragon Age 2 is a game I played multiple times, but while I personally find it an entertaining game, it is not a great game. Portal 2 is a great game, but it is an inferior game in comparison to Portal. Deus Ex: Human Revolution had a story that intrigued me, but wasn't varied enough for multiple playthroughs. Assassin's Creed Revelations came across as just one more jigsaw piece in the larger puzzle rather than a full game in its own right. Skyrim's environment is amazing and it appeals to my need going back to days of playing ASCII Rogue to dungeon crawl, so I had to nitpick that in a forum where people gripe about "DECISIONS THAT MATTER," that absolutely nothing matters in Skyrim. Or feels that way anyway.

I had to nitpick to clear the way for the one game I haven't mentioned yet as my Game of the Year, which is Bastion. Some people are incredibly helpful in describing why they have chosen which games they have for their Game of the Year. I am not going to be helpful at all. Instead, I will tell you to do a search for Bastion's soundtrack. And that if anyone else who's played the game thinks me crazy, then YOU, sir or madam, may use this internet to its fullest power and refute me. Prove to the masses that I am wrong while I completely ignore your ravings secure in the knowledge that my gaming mojo* is superior to yours.

* My gaming mojo already knows Bastion is better than The Witcher 2 or Arkham City.

Skyrim has pretty much won everyone's GOTY already, and will likely do so....game was a huge success for the gaming industry as a whole...as for my personal GOTY 2011...

1. Skyrim
2. Duke Nukem Forever (If you don't like it you can eat **** and die XD)
3. Portal 2

I cannot agree with you on this in the slightest but I kind of love you for saying this.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Pros:

-Detailed world that is immersive and beautiful
-Freedom to play the way you want
-Massive sandbox with varied environments
-Improved combat and Skill system (perk constellations)
-Smithing, Enchanting, Alchemy, Cooking
-Hundreds of books of lore, some adding to your Skill, others with funny stories, all adding to the world and experience
-Romance options and companions
-Much improved writing with fascinating political and social strife (Thalmor and Aldmeri Dominion are very interesting)
-Robust spell system
-Robust loot system
-Unrivalled content in general

Cons:

-Lots of bugs
-Companion AI is bad

One of the best games of all time, in my opinion. A true masterpiece.

*Second place and honorable mention goes to The Witcher 2. Not as good as the TW1 imo but still a brilliant game with a powerful story. Streamlining of alchemy made me furious, but the branching of the story and the weight of choices was spectacular.

My Game of the Year is Dragon Age 2. Despite all its flaws, I have gotten more enjoyment from it than any of the other games I've played this year.
Runner Ups:
TES V: Skyrim

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (great game, but I was extremely disappointed in how the ending was executed.)

Batman: Arkham City

Saints Row: The Third

Arkham City and Saints Row 3. They're the only two games I actually enjoyed immensely up to the point I voluntarily replay them. L.A. Noire had some nice ideas, but left a lot to be desired, and I couldn't give a rat's ass about the rest of the library. Besides Arkham City and Saints Row 3, only the Mass Effect games kept my remote interest. My free copy of Gears of War 3 is collecting dust while I'm fortunate to only BORROW Modern Warfare 3 for a weekend.
