Catch 'em all mentality is burned into my head.

I used to be the very best, like no one ever was... then I took a scratch in the knee. It was super effective.

And now you work in a PokeMart?

Mass Effect > than any TES game. Dragon Age may have gone to Hell but Mass Effect still looks as good as ever. In fact, Mass Effect 3 has even more leveling up and customization options than Mass Effect 2 now. So while Dragon Age seems to be getting down graded in the RPG department, Mass Effect seems to be going up. Once Mass Effect 3 releases, I'm pretty sure it will go back to people saying that Bioware games are better. I mean, ME3 is going to have awesome characters, an asorbing story and awesome gameplay with great role playing elements.

People still consider the best RPG's to be Baldur's Gate and Planescape. I've never seen Arena or Daggerfall mentioned.

Bioware and Bethesda develop *very* different games despite being in the same overall genre.  I tend to prefer sandbox RPGs over more linear, narrative based games so I would reverse the >. But, it's just a preference not an objective statement of fact. These arguments of subjective preference as global truth get annoying quick.

If you do want to get objective -- Oblivion/Fallout 3/Fallout: NV, from what I understand, all sold in excess of 4 million units each and Skyrim looks to be on track for 10 million or more. Quality argument aside, if you look at sales as a measure of preference then I'm not sure your statement is at all accurate. BioWare games sell well but not enough to say that people greatly prefer their games over Bethesda.

That said, I will likely be picking up ME3 and, if it's not a step backwards, I will probably enjoy it. I just hope it doesn't require Origin.

Bah I'm honestly surprised Elton John is dead isn't bashing on anything that isn't Dark Souls.

Pretty damn cool to see a single player RPG gain so much popularity.
COD eat your heart out.

Agreed.

But I doubt EA will stop trying to stuff MP into single player games...

Don't bring your Mass Effect 3 multiplayer argument here please.

I've seen no Master Ball around these parts, or any kind of Pokeball.

Well, these are the shipping figures, what about the actual sales? (Which has obviously sold very well regardless)

huh... "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a third person action combat game set in a high fantasy universe" and it looks like Fable TLC?

Other than graphics can you really say anything you might have seen on KoA is anything like Fable? Because there really isn't.

I was talking about the graphics indeed. More specifically, the swords design. and I loved Fable 1 , The Lost Chapters. Best Port-to-PC from a console game ever! Never played the others though. =)

Oh, the quote in italics is from Gamespot.

Not me, but there are voices who say that. I spent many hours playing Oblivion and loved it, now still playing Skyrim and enjoying it. Just speaking for myself, i play Skyrim like i played Oblivion. For me Skyrim is s worthy successor of Oblivion, without changing the base formula of Oblivion.

It is "Oblivion: Reloaded" as in Oblivion like it should've been.

My biggest issue is the 'new' engine.  A lot of people feel the same about this actually if you go to the Bethesda site.

To be fair, going to any game's main hub site will reveal a lot of negative opinions you won't find in most other parts.

Like, I don't know, BSN, for example.

Hey, BioWare. You could have maybe made half that if your game didn't target Spartans.

10 million copies...

This is what happens when a game sticks to its roots while improving with each release of the series, and the developer is patient, unwavering regarding its gaming principles and vision. Dare I say consistency rather than stripping a RPG of its soul is what leads to incredible sales numbers.

lol at idiots actually trying to compare 10 million SHIPPING to CoD: MW3 real sales figures.

uhh shipping 10 million is not the same as selling 10 million copies. ET for the Atari 2600 shipped 99 trillion copies but sold 5.  it originally shipped 7 million copies and half of those were sold. Then Bethesda shipped 3 million more copies making it 10 million. The sales number is probably 4-5 million which is decent, less so if you factor in that total sales number was spread throughout 2 consoles and the pc market. By comparison Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sold a whopping 17.3 million on one system: PS2. Final Fantasy 7 sold 10 million alone on the PSX. I think Pokemon takes the cake for rpg sales and has the highest by a ludicrous margin.

You can look at the vgchartz. Skyrim sold nearly 7mils (without PC digital sales).

Oh and lol at you. Because you're calling others idiots that makes you an idiot yourself - the only one here.
