First, I'd like to apologize to fellow gamers for taking up their valuable time. I've spent quite a few hours messing around with this issue and researching. If its a known, common issue with a fix already out on this forum...well, I missed it.

I have the original disk for DAO, and have recently purchased DLC, which I can see listed under my profile when I log into this site. However, when I "log in" repeatedly throught the game with my email addy and password, nothing happens. On one of the primary tech fix posts, it indicates that initial game login is a known issue, but this isnt just initial, it simply wont connect.

I have tried the following:
1) Disabling firewalls, trying again
2) Manually downloading 1.05, trying again.
3) Contacting origin support. And while I know they are trying hard, the issue they seem able to fix is "I don't have a 20% discount"
4) Manually activiating the downloader
5) Killing a black rooster with an obsidian knife, pouring the blood into a marble bowl, mixing with sacred herbs and brandy, setting it on fire, and pouring the resultant mess onto my motherboard. The only end result of that is that the girlfriend left me, so now I REALLY need my DLC.

I honestly don't see how my technical specs will help here, but  I wouldn't be here if I weren't stumped, so here goes:
Intel®core(t)2 duo cpu e6850 @3ghz
3.49gb physical memory
Nvidia geforce 9600gt, driver 258.96, Realtek HD audio output
Using xp home edition

Can anyone at least give me a hard shove in the right direction? I've dug through the 4 threads I can find that are relevant, and have not found an on point fix.

Aha. Was finally able to solve the problem. Its a known issue, but it was pretty buried. Your password needs to be alpha numeric, no special symbols. .
