Got Mass effect 2 first...... everything fine and really vote for it as the game
of the year now as fan of the game I went off to buy ME 1 for ten bucks
because I wanna grab some nostalgic mementos of Mass Effects into my
brain cells.
I have installed the patch 1.02 as well...... no joy...... ME 1 I can play that
say at max 15 min then I really have to quit the game because it is just
overheating the laptop..... you really can fry eggs on the laptop that hot....
Again... NO PROBLEM with ME2....... only with ME 1............
any help highly appreciated
because I fall in love with ME1 and really wanna play it to the end
I have AMD GPU - Radeon HD 6470M
6GigaByte RAM
an i5 CPU
and plenty of time to fix this or get it fixed

While Me1's utilisation of the Unreal3 engine which powers the ME graphics wasnt that well implemented, it ultimately is more an issue with your laptop's cooling and graphical capabilities, than game issue.
Laptops never have been designed for gaming, as the graphical chipset they implement is quite crap compared to the desktop equivalent, and cramming all those electronics into a small case that is designed more for its asthetic value than its cooling capabilities does nothing to help the situation.

You can get one of those external laptop cooling units. Like this: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16834980009

A few expensive models are "equipped" to play games for short periods of time, with mostly adequate components, but none have adequate cooling.Bogsnot1 wrote...

Meanwhile, Bogs, you doing OK, or have you been tossed in the cooler again for mentioning the unmentionable? I asked, because it's five days since you posted anything anywhere here.
