About this DLC.. just finished it and was expecting it to be a bit different I guess.

I was hoping that my new castle would become my new campsite, when I went there my party would be around making it a bit more lively, the dwarves there, the guys from the factions you recruit for the cause.. so everything is in one place so I don't have to keep going back and forth between camp for enchanting / talking to party members and my storage box.

Also I think they could have put more NPC's there, maybe once you recruit the different factions for the fight (mage circle, elves etc) they send a few troops to help 'defend' the fort, and train for the upcoming battle against the evil guys etc. after all, it is the only warden's line of defence against the evil in Ferelden. Maybe we could send a runner with a message north, for some grey warden reinforcements to help defend it? maybe have a few random attacks on it when you go there from time to time?

Just seems like a missed opportunity, could have been a lot better.

That wouldn't make any sense. Your camp moves around the map with you when go places. If the keep became a permanent residence you'd have to trek all the way to the north coast of Ferelden instead of throwing down some tents in the nearby wilderness.

so have the campsite aswell, but make the changes I suggested to the keep, that works doesn't it?

when you go to the "camp" it will be a regular camp, but the keep will be the camp+the keep and the changes I suggested.

It is convenient to have the storage chest out the front. I agree it does not feel much like home. Though the place was too creepy for me anyway.

I would not mind having a simple hall where you could feel safe and comfy after weeks camping out. I would put a picture of Duncan on the wall and maintain a stockroom and armoury.

But I am not sure how often normal players would actually use a house. Would they be happy to hang out there and take in the ambience. Or would they need some regular quests and functions.

hehe I never thought about the possiblity of decorating it.. maybe you could purchase different pictures of famous characters or something and hang them on the walls, or have shelves to display artifacts that you gather on your journey etc.

each character could have their own little area, morrigan would have a room filled with creepy witch-stuff, shrunken heads, jars of newt-eye and such, maybe?

Although I don't think Bioware would let you decorate it too much. It would be good to display some meaningful objects like your family shield or quest rewards.

I suppose the items would need to belong to a specific category with a standard size and placeable location like paintings, gems, tapestries or shields.

I was hoping for it to be base of operations as well instead of a glorified merchant and storage box area. The potential was squandered with that DLC.

they could always update it in another DLC, not a whole DLC devoted to it, just add it on to another DLC as a small extra.

i was pretty disappointed with it too, you can't even go into the keep after you're done with the dlc and what of the old warden wizard inside? does he discover something new or what? i was hoping the keep would be like crossroads keep from NWN2, they certainly could have added more stuff...
