I still think that those 2 guys from Arrival and Kasumi's DLC are the best ones.

Oh and this. Arrival OST has the PERFECT blend of orchestra and synthsizers. I always turn up the volume at the last part of Arrival and goes "**** yeah!" I don't understand why Bioware didn't hire these guys for some of the battle music in ME3.

Nah, Clint will do epic as well.  It's not like Lux Aeterna didn't become the epic movie trailer music of choice so many times or anything...  Hell, I think some stuff from The Fountain has been used in a similar vein before.

Who is the composer of Arrival?
Can't find any details about the soundtrack, could it be from ME3?
Fits perfectly in Surkesh demo.

Clint Mansell is awesome. If not him, then Cliff Martinez (composer for Solaris) or John Murphy (composer for 28 Days Later and Sunshine) would've been cool too.

Ideally though, they would've gotten Vangelis, since the first two Mass Effects' scores were heavily influenced by the Blade Runner soundtrack.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Howard Shore, the guy who did the soundtrack for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Those, especially Return of the King were dark and intense. On topic, I think that Clint Mansell will do fine with ME3, especially if it is something emotional and epic like Lux Aeterna.Posted Image

Probably one of the better composers to come out of the last era of composers. The LOTR trilogy scores was one of the best scores not done by one of my favorite composers that I've heard.

Though It would be sorta hard for Shore to compose Mass Effect 3 because he's busy scoring The Hobbit films in New Zealand, which will also be epic.Posted Image

Whoa, I only asked a question, no wonder the united nations has its work cut out.  Anyay I have changed my mind and think Gilbert and O'Sullivan and a new song HMS Normandy would be much better for the Mass Effect Universe, also I have been in the pub all day and think that there should be more beer in ME3, that is all!

When has hans zimmer ever incorperated synth tones into his music?
Also Hans Zimmer does not write original themes that stick out as "Themes". I basically feel the same as this guy...imnotafanboy.wordpress.com/2010/11/15/why-hans-zimmer-can-blow-me/

No.

As good as Hans ZImmer is, his music always end up sounding the same with only minor alterations. All his action pieces just ended up sounding bombastic and rarely memorable.

Clint Mansell has a knack in making his music stand out which is why I was pleased when he announced as the replacement for Jack Wall. If there's ONE composer that would actually make me even more excited than I was, it was C.M.

Hans Zimmer does very well imo, but I prefer most of Mansell's stuff, especially The Fountain.

I would have liked to see them both work on it actually, but I think that most of the comments are biased because it seems that most here know Hans only for his work on MW2,his best work is in the movies, they're both epic and create uplifting soundtracks.

simple answer....

no, he would not be.

Being a composer, not all writing styles fit everything. So, beyond popular belief that Hans Zimmer is the be all end all composer...it would not be a good fit.

Case in point...I like Bryan Tyler's work....but what he did for MW3 was not all that well done IMHO. But then that could be because of budgeting, time frame in which to work and other things that we don't know about.

Putting on Boots of Suppression now...(resist fire damage 100%)

No. I think Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco, Sam Hulick, and Christopher Lennertz did a great job and fit the game well. Besides, they worked on all the mass effect 1 and 2 games, and the mass effect 2 dlc's which i absolutely loved hearing referenced in the game.

Some of Hans Zimmer's earlier stuff was generic, yes, but if you listen to his recent tracks you'll find that he has become amazing. I'd go as far as to say that he has beat John Williams out of my number 1 spot.

I really don't get how you guys are saying that everything is super generic and sounds the same. Maybe you haven't listened to as much of his stuff as I have.

Could he have done a better job than Mansell? Maybe. He probably would have went with a more, "All hope is lost/delaying the inevitable" theme. It would have been really good.

The ME3 soundtrack was still one of the best parts of the game. Zimmer would have been fantastic, but Clint's work was still incredible.

No. Hans Zimmer has covers his amount of themes which include settings like "pirates of the carribean" or "the last samurai" and he did incredible great jobs on this. Also the Modern Warfare Soundtrack by him is great. But ME needs to be both epic and futuristic. And that was quite well done by Jack Wall especially. I see no need for Hans Zimmer if what we got is already at the top.

Not really a fan of Hans Zimmer's, a lot of his soundtracks tend to pinch motifs liberally from established classical composers. A bit like James Horner in that regard.

I don't get the fuss about Mansell, he contributed maybe 2 tracks? Full credit to Sam Hulick, Chris Lennertz, Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco for the majority of what made ME3's soundtrack great.

Oh, and to the person who asked, the Arrival DLC music was by Chris Lennertz. I think it's the only DLC that didn't get its own MP3 mini album, which kind of sucks.

Whoever did the soundtrack of ME3 was ok.

Character Creation, Legion's sacrifice, before and during sex music, Wrex confrontation and Rannoch were the only decent songs. Everything else was poo poo, i still have yet to cry during a game. The leaving Earth theme tried to hard.

Nooooooooooooooooooo, is the answer to the OP.

Sorry I can't stand Hans Zimmer's music, and to whoever said he was better than John Williams, LOLPosted Image

A lot of Hans Zimmer's music is just a wall of sound, no melody, same chord progressions and to me everything he writes just sounds the same.

Ugh ... Hans Zimmer does the soundtrack for a popular movie, and suddenly he's the only sound artist who exists in some people's minds.
