I sure hope Insanity will be truly insane.

Using them on harbringer is using an exploit/bug of the game.

It doesn't specify how long the disabling of biotics is going to last.

And if he starts shooting again, shove another flashbang down his throat.

Of course it's an exploit, just like stasis effects, but hey, if you want to press a button to turn of minibosses it's your game.

In ME1 Insanity is quite easy but it got some hard areas as stated above.
Insanity in ME2 is as hard as walking over the street.

This is of course only my opinions but i would love if i actually had a hard time on Insanity in ME3.

ME1 Insanity is a joke.

It's never hard, just tedious when you fight Krogans that have huge health and love to use Immunity and that power is such BS on any difficulty!

While ME2 Insanity is very hard if you are level +20 and don't upgrade most of your combat stuff.

Once you upgrade everything, then it's quite easy.

I agree with everything said about ME2 and its difficulty. I had a HELLACIOUS time with ME1 on insanity, though. Maybe something to do with my class(Adept)

Harbinger is just annoying and I find the regular Collectors to be more of a challenge. When Harbinger is actually shooting at me, I only have to take about three steps to the right/left and it'll fly right by me.

So, yeah. I'd rather avoid it outright.

The only thing hard about ME1's Insanity mode was the snipers.

That's because they are cheap bastards, like every damn camper in every mulitplayer shooter!

Also rockets with 1 hit kill on every difficulty can kiss my ass!

Well, we also get to take on Cerberus goons with 3 friends. ME3 will be awesome!

See, I'm wondering how's that gonna work for multiplayer. Suppose that every co-op player is playing on a different difficulty. Will there be no difficulty set for MP or will there be a one-for-all type of thing everyone agrees on?

Halo always did, and to take a recent example Battlefield 3 for example had a difficulty setting for multiplayer. I am assuming that they will let the host decide what difficulty they will be playing this on. I just hope that we don't have to go through the Origin browser plugin (yes, I'm talking to you, Battlefield 3), that was terrible. Why choose browser over in-game menus?

right, enemy protections arent a cheap method of creating a challegne at all!
*head explodes*

Perhaps not the best example, but the difficulty setting in Rainbow Six series - not the recent Vegas crap, the good ol' Rogue Spear and Raven Shield - had an edge there. It was how quickly the AI would respond to your actions, how quickly they would turn and aim and shoot you. Considering that Rainbow Six was either gimp you good for the rest of the game with one shot or kill you outright, this did make the game incredibly challenging in later missions.

Not saying that Mass Effect should, but I do believe AI can be improved to actually achieve a harder difficulty rather than buffing them up with higher HP, armor and DPS. Mass Effect is an RPG, but the combat does play like FPS so I don't see why not.

ME2s Insanity was laughably easy once you learned the basics though. I really hoped they fixed that in ME3, I'm tired of getting bored a couple hours into a play-through because it lacks challenge.

^Here's help for that.

No upgrades( except for Normandy upgrades, if you wish).

Challenge is back.

Oh, but here's the downside: He refuses to shut the hell up about how you're delaying the inevitable if you use the flashbangs.

That said, it's a pretty funny thing to do.

I just did that in my ME2 Let's Play on Horizon.

IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!

It isn't hard even without upgrades, it just takes somewhat longer to do stuff. Also if you have to delibirately gimp yourself in order to be challenged at the highest difficulty the game isn't very well designed.

Though from the look of it, ME3 looks to fix that problem.

Plus it just more Bioware difficulty, essentially you give the enemy more health and damage.

I didn't upgrade my character properly until the Suicide Mission, guess that made it harder, plus the NG+.

Note: I never said Insanity was extremely difficult, I said I had fun compared to Casual. ;P

Agreed, Insanity is a lot more fun then the easier difficulty settings. ME2 is probably the best singleplayer shooter I've played gameplay wise. There are some areas that can be expanded (more customization for example) but the only real flaw I can think of off the top of my head is the difficulty.

^Well Casual can be tricky if you don't upgrade anything and it's NG+ with level 30 Shepard.

I'm doing Let's Play of ME2 on Casual since it's the worst import for ME3( gonna do ME3 LP of that on Insanity). and just want to be done with it fast since after 24+ playtrough's I'm tired of ME2.

For me it can and I find Insanity with all upgrades easy.

I only ever play ME and ME2 on insanity now and both of them are relatively simple. But I'm still torn on whether I want to start ME3 on insanity right off the bat. I probably will...I'm a stickler for punishment. Still got 3 months to decide anyway...can't wait!

^I'm absolute bored with Gears of War, which is consider the best cover based third person shooter.

Why?
Cause you only shoot.

You don't have powers like Mass Effect's Soldier nor squadmates you can give orders and also ,makes combat sections different since you have multiple squadmates to choose and every single one is different in gameplay.

Mass Effect 2 insanity was easy. However it isn't that much easier than any other game on the market. I haven't played a game in years that I haven't been able to get the hang of after a couple hours. I think N64 was the last time I ever stressed about playing a game because it kicked my ass. I could of just been a worse player then, but I think all games today are very easy.

Yes because most of them are awful. I swear to god if they release another CoD or BF-esque game I'm going to rip my balls off and shove them into my ears so I don't have to hear the high pitched shrieks of gay from the pre-pubescent fanboys as they celebrate mediocrity with a fervor that would make ****ing al-Qaida impressed.

It was a while since I played it but Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox was fairly tough, IIRC. Might be worth checking out if you want a challenge.
