In that case, ME1 isn't well designed at all when it comes to the combat, since you can just give every gun Frictionless Materials combined with Rail Extensions and then you'll still build up heat, but it'll more than likely last throughout the whole battle.
what benefit does fireing forever give you when your playing ME1? thatd only work the best with ME2s linear corridor shooting galleries.
the best weapon in ME1 is a pistol with dual scrams, or rail extensions, i cant remember which is which anymore.
and i wasnt aware frictionless materials caused enemies not to try to kill you. but i think your aware shooting isnt the only aspect of mass effect.
