It is simply because women got period every month, so naturally the tainted blood will go out, eventually there are no taint left anymore :)

Women can't be a Grey Warden if there is no taint left. Women only become Grey Warden temporaily and don't have to going for the Calling.

And i think that is the ultimate answer for all the huss and puss about women Grey Warden fertility.

None of the above.
My guess is; there aren't many female Grey Wardens because most women suck with a sword. Sorry fellow ladies, but its true *Shrug*

o rly..?

history show women also good with sword, only that women are not as barbaric as men, we use it only at certain time and situation, not always like men...

Mulan, Kemalahayati (first woman admiral in the world), Queens of Langkusa/Pattani, Tomoe Gozen (woman samurai)...and many more women who fight...but of course men are to ego to recognize them. Most women in the east fight and can handle weapon, i don't know women in the west...i only know Joan of Arc...

It is true that there have been women in history who were good with a sword, but not many.
Also women being less barbaric then men would be a hindrance would it not?

Ummm, the, like, whole *go with the flow* theory of, like, the taint and wimmen only works if you, like, discount the fact that, y'know, the taint actually invades, like, all the organs and, oh yeah, the marrow and the stomach lining, and the lungs and other grody nasty things. So, like, unless you discount the human physiciological performance entirely and just decide that anatomy works completely, like, the *opposite* of known science in the Thedas world, that theory kinda, like, fails.

Alistair will ask that question to female PC in Ostagar

Alistair : "right that was the name, it accured to me that there are not many women in grey warden, i wonder why that is?"

PC choice :

1. why not stop thinking me a woman
2. because we are to smart for you
3. ...(i don't remember)
4. so not interested

So the actual answer is in the first post :)

Alistair was only a Warden for six months before the PC was recruited -and he was a Fereldan Warden at that- so it is likely that there are female Wardens, but he just hasn't met them.
If you haven't read 'The Calling' then I recommend you do, since there are TWO female in it.

EDIT. As for the female fertility thing which people keep obsessing over; David Gaider has said a Grey Warden can have a child, just not with another Warden.

:D *Hahahaha!*

So in theory, if a male Warden bleeds enough in battle, he too could lose the tainted blood in his system. Right?

If they are warrior tank, maybe, if they are rogue with high dexterity or an archer or a mage, they don't bleed :P
