I won't complain if the writers say, "It is our vision that these characters are 'straight' or 'gay' and not be made 'bi.'" It is their right and all I can do is decide whether or not I want to play the game. I bought and enjoyed ME despite the lack of s/s options (well, I don't play them often, so it really didn't matter). I just think it's silly when people who are willing to accept the near complete lack of restrictions on ME romances (species/morality), whether they enjoyed them or not, do so EXCEPT when it comes to "bi" and m/m romances. NOW the game is ruined.

Whatever.

The only thing anyone is arguing is:

Given choice X, you can either 1) make choice X or 2) not make choice X.

If choice X bothers you for whatever reason you don't have to make choice X in any of your playthroughs of a game.

Just going to repost my original statement as I still feel it makes sense: "My only complaint is that playing fast and loose with sexuality is a mistake from a writing standpoint. It also deprives the writers of actually discussing/commenting on the issue in favor of giving everyone options."

^^^I'm, sticking with this. It's all I've got to say really. My compliments to the mods for letting this thread exist for as long as it has.

S/S romance options = Force S/S romance on players.

Still more realistic than every LI being bisexual, especially somebody like Garrus or Thane whose showed no interested in MaleShep that way. It's one thing to ask for one or two bisexual LIs where it is plausable, another thing to want this DA2-level stupidity.

Well, I don't know about you, ReconTeam, but we're talking about OPTIONS IN A RPG video game, not sexual relationships. You can have your "manly" Shepard and others can have their gay Shepard. IF IF IF Bioware decides that they want to, those fictional gay Shepards can be accessorized with a relationship to a LI that was not available for s/s before.

Oh jlb. Don't you know that it's out of the question that say blacks and women get shafted but homosexuals...well there just isn't comparison because they haven't been discriminated against nearly as much as them. There simply is no comparison. After all, a homosexual has never been beaten to death and denied jobs and equal protection in history.
