Of course not. We're talkng about a construct here, a story. And whether you like it or not, that means certain creative rules must be kept in mind for the construct to work.

But sexuality is not a defining character trait, is it?  Characters evolve, and we find out new things about them.

You just ASSUME so-and-so is straight because so-and-so was only a straight option before.  By that logic, Garrus and Tali must be asexual, and their romances are clearly a retcon.

Somebody you would actually know in real life is different from a video game story..

Oh but we want our stories to be true to life, don't we?

In that case you'd want to agree to disagree. There's the root of your disagreement, methinks.

Some people are influenced by their sexuality. There are people who act a certain way because of their sexuality. Someones sexual preference can have a huge impact on their overall personality.

Who's to say the predominance of heterosexuality will be any different in Shepard's time than it is now? That's what propagates a species, afterall. Of course I'm going to presume that. And sexuality is a defining character trait.

I'm fine with whatever they put into the game. My whole purpose from the start was that i was wondering why people placce so much emphasis on them.Thats it. In regards to people becoming S/S available in the last game of the trilogy..Yes I am against that.

Romances in video games are silly. Especially if it's not a dating sim.

Like in Skyrim, you can marry and then immediately after kill and eat your spouse (as a Werewolf). That's as relevant to RL as video game romances get.

And I'm sure that, in a future that is more accepting, with better technology that makes sex much safer and opens new possibilities when it comes to reproduction, the ratio OBVIOUSLY won't change at all.

I said SOME people are influenced. There are people who act this way.MOST of the time.
There is nothing wrong with stereotyping. They are true more than  half the time. Just dont approach a situaton thinking of stereotypes as a  100%. kind of thing because they arent.  I dont do that.

YOU are what's wrong with society.  What I bolded is why this bigoted crap persists.

If you believe nothing is wrong with stereotypes, that they are true more than half the time, THEN YOU ARE A BIGOT.

Afraid? Now your logic is getting flawed. Im not for it. I dont mind if its in there but im against it if somebody wants to know.

Not everything caters to the straight white loser male. Most of mass effects romances dont appeal to that stereotype only..

There is nothing wrong with wanting these options in games.
There is nothing wrong with not wanting these options in games.

Word. Both design paths are viable. They each have their advantages and disadvantages. Being in favor in one or the other doesn't make you a homophobe nor a sexual deviant.

-People who believe sexuality is interwoven into one's character, and should be treated as lore, that is: Ashley doesn't go from straight to gay just so women get to have sex with her. There needs to be a substantial reason for it. This is where I'm coming from.

Nobody's talking about having Ash go from straight to gay. You do know what bi means right? Plus, you can't point to any moment where she declares she's not interested in women or turns FemShep down. Conclusion: You don't know if she's straight or bi. But you sure really want her to be just straight.

just gonna post this again since slimgrin ignored it

Bigot?
Because what i said is pretty much the truth. Most stereotypes are true more than half the time.Thats why we see it so much in marketing and whatnot.. Stereotypes work when you look at society as a whole... 100% Fact.. You are a pretty naive person.
I also like how you ignore how im actually completely neutral about the situation. Nobody is a bigot. You're getting illogical for no reason.

Entirely possible. It'll still be an uncommon occurence though, from a biological standpoint.

But what about my other point, what about giving the writers an opportunity to send a message here?

Possibly in human culture, but alien culture who knows? Everyone is like slavery is bad but the Batarians beg to differ.

Oh ho ho.  MY logic is flawed?  You, who say stereotypes are okay, who say they are true more than half the time?

Should I get back in the kitchen for you, big boy?  Would that make you feel better for me to conform to your twisted perception of reality?

Kitchen jokes are overused and stupid. Those jokes come from what most housewives did back in the 40's, 50's 60's etc They were in the kitchen alot..A steretype. Its no longer the norm in America though. . My perception of reality isnt twisted at all.
Again you're illogical

Then they should send a non-hateful message.  One that says, hey, guess what, I'm a person, too.  I'm not some stupid stereotype, I'm a real goddamn person.
