Female Kossith ( Gimme female Qunari!)
Male Circle Mage, who likes the idea of the Circle of Magi.

I'd like to see new companions though I wouldn't mind having Cullen, Tallis or Feynriel as companions either. Nate Howe too, and always Varric. But it really depends on the protagonist. If it's Hawke or the Warden again, then I'd like a combo of new and old companions.

Cullen is a definite case. Dude has been long overdue. Tallis would be welcomed if you're able to debate with her and not be railroaded into her being right no matter what.

You weren't really railroaded into her being right though in Mark of the Assassin. In fact I saw a lot of self-doubt in her and it was kinda fascinating to watch, her beliefs and her convictions to them was interesting to say the least.

I guess part of my apprehension, which is what I sensed from others as well, is that she pretty much gets the last word no matter what. This seems to be the same issue so many had with Anders as well.

But than again, I don't dislike Tallis either. I think being fully fleshed out as a companion would do wonders for her.

It would also be nice to see, like with Merrill, some karma characters like Jowan (a thing like he escaped the iarl guards/templars and such, a pretext just like Anders)

For me, I want more Zevran, I find him fascinating because of the arc he can go through, and the one-man crusade he is waging against Antiva. Although I don't see it fitting into the storyline of Dragon Age III unless if you have to go to Antiva.

I'd prefer cameos from former companions only. Like Zevran and Leliana had in DA2. I've given up on Nathaniel as a full fledged companion (since they handwaved (possibly dead) Anders and felt that was enough handwaving), but a quest with him featured would be nice. His quest/cameo in my games was a lot of fun and they didn't completely botch his looks like Zevran's. So, one shot quests or just running into them in the course of a quest would be good for me.

Alistair won't be a full fledged companion for the same reason Nathaniel won't be. Too many people could have killed him or made him king, kind of removing him from the old 'wandering adventurer' category. However, living Alistair (king or GW or former drunk) would work for a cameo as in DA2, maybe as a one shot quest or quest giver.

I would like to see all new companions for the new protagonist, and saw some interesting ideas upthread. I see Qunari's mentioned and Tal Vashoth. I hope I never have to see Tallis again unless they fix that howler monkey look she has going on with her dried out lips, flat, square features and wrinkly eyes. I had to close my eyes through most of her cutscenes. Felicia Day is so pretty but when Bioware implemented her as Tallis something got changed in the transition...UGH! I've been haunting the Nexus trying to find a suitable morph for her.

I'd really like Cullen (if given a reason why he would join). He's experienced so much character growth from a naive young templar (with a possible crush on the mage warden) to a young man who stands up for what's right, no matter what, or who he has to oppose. He'd make an interesting companion (esp if the mage/templar conflict is even background to what happens in DA3) and would make a decent LI too I think if they can write him as well as they have so far. Even if we never see him again in Dragon Age, I can imagine he's going to be all right, no matter what happens.

Another character I'd like to see who hasn't been a companion is Bann Teagan, though I realize it's impractical as he seems to be a lot more busy in DA2 now with helping King Alistair and what's going on with the Orlesians (MotA) than Eamon is atm. It would be nice to get a little cameo with him or even a short quest, though.   Esp if you get the option to flirt with him.

I like the cameos of previous party members. They're sort of like a shout-out to people who've played through the entire series. I don't think most of them need to be companions, though. I like meeting new characters. There are a couple I'd really like in DA3 though:

Cullen, because he's got a seriously cool story arc; let the player participate in it.
Varric, because he's awesome.
Sigrun, because I didn't get enough of her in Awakening.
Bodan and Sandal; not really as companions, but I like having them around. Plus there's clearly something going on with Sandal. I want to know what.

Cullen...Definitely Cullen. I think he'd be an interesting character with all the belief-shattering moments he's had. In Origins, he seemed a bit sympathetic toward mages, then the abomination thing happened, and he went all mage-hatey. Then Meredith pulled her little stunt, and now I get the feeling he would just be lost...

I'd also love to see Morrigan and Shale, and maybe a cameo from Jowan. And seeing any of the characters from Asunder would be great IMO...

I doubt any characters from previous games will return as companions; if anything it'll probably just be characters from DLC. Tallis seems a likely choice right now. I also wouldn't mind seeing Finn from Witch Hunt return because it would make a change to have a mage that isn't all confident, bold leader type. Other than that, new companions would probably be the best choice. My opinion, of course.

PS. Cullen please! :)

I would like to see all of them from origin and DA 2 but NOT as companions again, as friends we could see where their lives went and yet have new companions. I would also like to see what becomes of some of the more significant NPCs.

Anders( old one; without sounding so much like alistair)
Velanna(without turning her into Morrigan the second)
Zevran( Oh MY GOD! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM!)
Merrill( Dang you for making her so cute!)
Isabela( less stripper)
Oghren( Anders is getting lonley with his humor)
Give Ser Pounce-a-Lot back to Anders- he saved my group from last man standing with broodmother

i dont know. i never liked cullen. one- he HATES me. two- he stopped being a mage sypathist. Three- as much as i am grateful for him standing up for me supporting mages, i picture him hunting my hawk down for blowing up his ( and i admit, it gave off more of a court room feel than a church feel) chantry.

New companions and new pc.

Option to get rid of companions if they are as idiotic and boring as some of the DA2 companions.
