Why shouldn't you trust TIM?
Because he has a history of lying to Shep, let's start there.
Because he's working for the same goal as me and has shown that he's willing to do everything to achieve it.
"OH NO HE LIED TO ME, HE'S TOTALLY NOT GOING TO HELP ME FIGHT THE REAPERS" doesn't work for me, mostly everybody who Shepard worked for has lied directly to his face.
That's what should happen with Parashep.
Renegades and Paragons should have equal consequences.

The TIM we've been introduced to constantly wouldn't want to kill Shepard unless killing him brought him an advantage, he's rational and doesn't get rid of potential allies simply for the laughs.

He will see it as an advantage, cuz when he has all the power he wants he wil see Shep as someone who could take his power away or Shep will not get killed and live as TIM's b!tch for the rest of his/her days. Not really something any Shep would want in my view.Dave of Canada wrote...

TIM, you're helping me? Great, start pooling resources!
TIM, you're my enemy? *BAM BAM BAM* Not anymore!
Difficult dilemma solved.
"Violence- If it doesn't solve all of your problems, you simply aren't using enough of it."
Indeed.
Just shoot the ****** if he tries something.
Also, if TIM wanted to help humanity against the Reapers, he would've sent the Alliance the information on the Reapers he had, instead of letting the majority of the Alliance fleets get destroyed without even trying to help them.
It's so painfully obvious that he's just in to gain power for himself and Cerberus.

The whole desire to help humanity is clearly a farce. TIM's just a megalomaniac whose interests are purely self serving and that's why he was more then willing to sacrifice himself in Retribution.

TIM was willing to sacrifice his life and was pissed when Leng played hero. That is not the reaction of a self absorbed, power hungry megalomaniac that is the reaction of a man whose loyal to the Cerberus ideology and cause.
Stop trying to paint him as something else.

TIM just looks sad and pathetic compared to what Saren gave up in an attempt to secure the future of all organic life in the galaxy.
What did TIM lose? Money and resources. Oh no. He can't have those really expensive drinks anymore. Boo-hoo.
Not to mention that he said himself that they will recover from it. So much for that sacrifice.

He was willing to sacrifice his life for a Cerberus opertive that was human. Had that been an alien or a non Cerberus personal I doubt he would have saved them, more so when he is having Cerberus attack the people trying to stop the Reapers in ME3.GodWood wrote...

TIM was great in ME2, until the comics and books ruined him, he is now just a power hungry rich man who sleeps with a woman each day and will try to kill one of the few peopel trying to stop the Reapers. LOL Bioware.
*sigh* Bioware, can you please stop ruining characters?

Hypocrisy at its finest.
You're giving him way too much credit for doing something slightly out of the ordinary.
You're making him sound like he's the hero of the day just because he told a guy to stop another guy. Like he always does.
What's next? Should he get a marksman reward for shooting a gravely injured turian?

I do too, she has very bad taste in men. She'd rather date a bird lizard with a literal boner and a frog man with lung problems over a sauve and wealthy magnificent bastard that's dressed like a future version of James Bond. What has the world come to?

Personally, I enjoy the parallels he has to Shepard. This man who achieved much and has been actively working against the Reapers for decades, rather than Shepard who was essentially handed down everything and fought the Reapers.
In addition to this, the novels have shown that he's actively working against the Reapers and considers every advantage (He considers working with Shepard again, he doesn't want anything to happen to Anderson after Cerberus was nearly destroyed by him) and was willing to sacrifice himself for his goal/agenda.
One of my favorite traits about TIM, possibly making him one of my favorite characters in the ME franchise before he was butchered by ME3, is that he's incredibly proactive and doesn't take the Reaper threat lying down and will do anything to achieve said goal.
Every report from ME2 implies that he'd work with the alien races, the novels and comics establish that he's hardcore anti-Reaper and he's the only one to give a damn about Shepard in ME2. The least I expected was he wouldn't turn into a comic book villain, something which they undoubtedly failed with what they did to the character in ME3 (as it pleases many individuals, the "sunshine and rainbows brigade").
At least Kelly's story stays somewhat consistent with the character and keeps some redeeming qualities, too bad they removed them everywhere else.
