Then you're a hypocrite. Let me explain why.

LoL, whatever.  The two have nothing to do with one another.

If your intent was to get people to ease up on criticizing the inclusion of multiplayer by comparing it to romances, you fail completely in your first sentence.  You don't convince people of your position by insulting them.

If your intent was to flame people who enjoy the romances, then congrats, you succeeded in sending forth a childish attack post.  Yay for you.

Ah yes, I knew it was only a matter of time until you showed up in this thread.

As for  your post, well, given what I've read from you in the multiplayer threads, "Pot calling the kettle black" doesn't even begin to describe it.

Oh, by the way, you don't convince me of your argument by merely seizing upon my first line, accusing me of flaming, and then completely ignoring the part of my post in which I actually make my argument. How about practicing what you preach, eh?

I consider the dialogue forced and the cutscenes to be cheesy b-grade soft porn.

Quality aside, they're not even remotely "soft porn".  Especially not ME2's "fade-to-black before the clothes come off" scenes.

Oh look, more attempts to make it personal.

Whatever.

I would agree with them being hypocrites if they thought romances were more important. Both are optional content that are tied to the main plot loosely. (well that is how mp is being presented we have yet to see it in action)

Now they aren't hypocrites for simply not liking multiplayer that is just like having an opinion man. However dismissing it as a waste of resources is hypocrisy if they support romances. (but if the addition of multiplayer is more expensive by a significant margin they may have a point)

Apples and oranges. All of those are either not optional for the player or so ubiquitious in video games it's hard to argue they were added to cater to a certain group of gamers. The same can't be said for romances or multiplayer.

Romances are as ubiquitous in previous Bioware games as any other of those features. I see no hypocricy in liking one feature and disliking another. It's just a matter of personal opinion.

If it's solely due to personal opinion, then yes, I agree. I said just as much in original post. However, most of the multiplayer opponents argued against it on the basis that it was an unnecessary waste of resources or because it catered to a certain group of gamers (which they didn't like). Yet the exact same thing could be said of the romances. That is where the hypocrisy is.

Indifference to what a person is saying;"

I think this is more apt than the first one

You can't have anything better than linking to a slang "dictionary"?

Nice try, kid.   Nice try.

I like the romances, I don't like multiplayer. That's not hypocritical, that's my preference.

In my case, not being interested in multiplayer, I just don't want to be at a disadvantage compared to players who will play it.

Lets put it this way: I'm pretty sure that "galactic readiness bar" is filled by a good portion if you're importing a savegame from ME2. If that savegame got imported from ME1 too, I believe that bar could be half-filled so you just have to fill the rest of it. And that should be possible without playing that multiplayer part of ME3.

Oh, and as for wasting resources, it all just depends on, once again, a subjective definition of what's necessary and what isn't. Some people (myself included, probably) would say Mass Effect wouldn't be the same without them and, thus, they are pretty much necessary to maintain integrity. Now, if they hadn't been present in the first game but were introduced in the second one, it would be another story.

I am not saying it's going to be game-breaking (hopefully... at least the devs stated you don't need it to complete the game the way you want to), but, basically, people who play multiplayer will gain something I never will if I don't become one of them. However you put it, I find it to be an advantage and, thus, myself at a disadvantage, hopefully, an insignificant one.

Romances are part of singleplayer experience so your argument is invalid.
