All I do is Wynne, Wynne, Wynne, no matter what...

Didn't want to scour the internet looking for this, but does anyone know if there is any reference at all to Wynne in DA2? I know she does not make the cameo list, but do we get any news about her at all?
If not, I'd likely assume she is dead, given that she was living on borrowed time in DAO.

However, as was said above she plays an important role in Asunder, which takes place 1 year after Act 3.

And, FWIW, she's a total boss in it.

Wynne isn't mentioned in DA2 AFAIR, but she is one of the main characters of the upcoming book 'Asunder,' which I believe is set in Orlais around the conclusion of the game.
She dies, apparently.

The Ethereal Writer Redux says...
Aside from "The Blight was stopped with the aid of two mages, one of them an apostate!", no there isn't.
However, as was said above she plays an important role in Asunder, which takes place 1 year after Act 3.
Ulicus says...
Indeed.
And, FWIW, she's a total boss in it.
Sorry I didn't have a chance to check on this thread until just now.
So she's still alive a year after Act 3? That's about ten years after Awakenings.
Do they give a reason about how she thought she was dying in DAO with Faith's power fading, but somehow she is alive many, MANY years later? I feel like I'm missing some lore here.

You forget that Wynne's case is something that had never been seen before. She could feel the spirit weakening but there was really no telling what could happen.
I would assume that she doesn't exert the spirit during that timespan.(She has no reason to that we know of.)
Also the reason she dies is apparently because she uses the spirit to revive Rhys' lover, Evangeline after she's mortally wounded.

Yeah, she actually wills the spirit into Evangeline's body (which kills Wynne).
The spirit is now a part of Evangeline.

The question is that canon? David Gaider said the books or comicsjlb524 wrote...

have their own canon.
So did he really killed Wynne forever or only for the book?
And what if Wynne is killed in DAO? Evangeline (if she plays a role in the future of course)
doesn´t have the spirit inside her.

Wynne is killed forever regardless...if she survived DA:O, she's dead now.

Nope...unless they make it canon that Wynne survived DA:O regardless...which makes more sense to me than Leliana surviving regardless, given the nature of Wynne's spirit.

So the book is its own canon as in it doesnt take our playthroughs and choices into consideration but the events do take place in the DA universe, so it is possible that it will get a mention in DA3, is this right?
I believe so.
Well, not many specifics were given about the Warden (and none about Hawke) besides that the Warden traveled with Wynne and Shale until the end (both were present when the Archdemon was slain).
But Wynne is very important to the Asunder plotline...if she's dead, I'm not sure how the ending (both mages and templars break away from the Chantry) could have been achieved.

Maybe she doesn't actually die when the Warden fights her. If the spirit was what kept her alive, arguably she could be immortal as long as she has the spirit inside of her body.
Which means that Anders could very well be alive if he was shanked by Hawke.
I wonder what we should call mages like that.

This makes my head hurt...
I'm glad that the new book discusses Wynne. A lot of people hate on her as being annoying and lecturing all the time, but I thought of her as a teacher, someone you could learn a lot from, especially for my canon Warden who knew her from the Tower and where she actually might have BEEN his teacher.
I play all my canon characters as mages, so I'm really tied to the ones the other mage companions in the game.
Except Anders. That guy can DIAF.
