Hello all!

We want to share the official list of the talented team of composers  who will play critical roles in Mass Effect 3's musical development, with direction led by BioWare’s acclaimed audio team. The roster of composers for Mass Effect 3 includes:

Clint Mansell, Golden Globe nominated Hollywood composer recognized for scoring celebrated films including Black Swan, The Wrestler and Requiem for a Dream.

Christopher Lennertz
, Emmy nominated Hollywood composer known for his work on the recent movie Horrible Bosses, also composed Mass Effect 2: Overlord, Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker, and won the Interactive Academy Award for Medal of Honor.

Cris Velasco, known for composing the God of War series’ score, has also worked on downloadable content Mass Effect 2: Kasumi and Mass Effect 2: Arrival.

Sam Hulick, veteran to the Mass Effect series having composed the score for Mass Effect, Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky and Mass Effect 2.

Sascha Dikiciyan, video game industry veteran, known for composing the score for TRON: Evolution and the scores of Mass Effect 2: Kasumi and Mass Effect 2: Arrival.

“The magic of BioWare games has always been the emotional power of the story, so music is extremely important to the experience,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series. “With Mass Effect 3, we’re taking players on a more personal journey, even though the scope is bigger than ever – an all-out galactic war! Each composer has played an intricate role in delivering the combination of epic scope and delicate emotion that will make Mass Effect 3 the best game in the series.”

You can download a music teaser here!  (This particular contribution is by Sam)

I should go. Posted Image

That's a rock-solid composer list, I'd say. They certainly have the experience, no doubt about that. The teaser is...teasing me. I'm a sucker for violins. It's good to hear some toned-down, yet breathtaking compositions. Thanks, Ms. M.

By the way, I take it the details in the MP3 are accurate, this is Sam's composition snippet?

The score is really going out with an enormous blast, with Mansell was big enough, but enough it just surpassed epic!!!
That piece of score there, just made me cry :,)
PS: The piece isn't Mansell's but Sam Hullick's. He said it over in Facebook in the post of the composer's list. Awesome!

Epic music is epic. Also, yay for Sam Hulick, glad to see he and other composers of past ME music have had a hand in crafting the soundtrack for ME3.

Sascha Dikiciyan is also one of the composers for borderlands! i really liked that music, so she'll probably be taking a large lead on the action sequence music, with big drums and electric sound effects. SO FRAKKIN' STOKED

Is it weird that I'm more excited about Lennertz and Hulick than I am about Mansell? LotSB was my favorite ME2 music and Sam Hulick of course composed the main theme. Awesome!

Too bad Jimmy isn't back.

So happy Sam Hulick and the others who worked on previous parts are back. I loved ME2 DLC's music as well.

The teaser sort of creates(in my mind's eye, anyways) this imagery of Shepard and his partners making a very long, enduring march to the ends of a desolate planet - or somewhere more mysterious, perhaps. Not completely without hope, but the odds are not in their favor. No risk, no reward. It doesn't try to swell up too much, staying somber instead. As a poster pointed out in the facebook thread similar to this one, it works well to loop the teaser as well. Nice work, Sam. :)

Wow, great music. I loved Mansell's music for Black Swan, Moon, and The Fountain. Good to know veterans of ME are back too. I loved BDtS, Overlord and Arrival music.

That's good news indeed.
I would prefer to see John Williams composes some pieces for ME3, but it's kinda impossible. He hasn't composed anything since Revenge of the Sith.

Actually he has. He recently composed Tintin.

I listened to the teaser and sounds different from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 but that isn't a bad thing.

Wow guys, that's some list of composers you got there :) ME3's soundtrack is no doubt going to be amazing.

And that music teaser gave me goosebumps all over. Simply brilliant.

More ME1'ish electronic/techno and less must-be-hollywood orchestra than in ME2 plus DLCs and we would have a very nice score.

I loved the clinical, scifi techno riffs we have in ME1, it blended perfectly in with the setting and the feel the game radiated (and what I expected). ME2 was trying way too hard to be a blockbuster with its music, I reaaally miss the ME1 score when playing it. Just a little les than that and little more of the other, then mix it up for the correct settings/moods that are to be conveyed and I will name my tenth born after the composers (all of them, ... loong name ... if I ever come to have ten children, which I don't plan to, but I promise, sort of ... no guarantees!).
