Just saw on Facebook that the music he scored in the CE trailer was from 0.13 - 0.34; I'm guessing the music in that trailer is a mix from a number of the composers :)

I'm pretty sure he meant from 0:13-1:34, because that's when the version of classic ME theme used at the end of "Normandy Reborn" kicks in.  Also, here's the tweet where Sam confirms the piano piece from the demo was Mansell's work.

No, he said it again in the news subforum that his part was 0:13-0:34; the pure synths. And as far as I recall, Normandy Reborn was Jack Wall, no?

That wasn't the point.  The point was that the music was all new until 1:34, which seemed a bit coincidental.  In any case, I asked him and he said it really was just to 0:34.  Chalk one up for coincidence.

Ah, I see. Does seem coincidental, good to have that cleared up :) And the music in that trailer was edited all over anyway. The Normandy bit at the end was horribly out-of-place - as if purposefully limiting our exposure to new music as much as possible.

I knew it wouldn't be Clint Mansell alone. I thought it would be just like Hans Zimmer did Crysis 2 lol and I was right.

And you know what? It's good news. I'm familiar with all the other composers and I highly approve their work with the series so far.

I'm so happy Hulick is back. He has written my favorite soundtracks of ME. Really appreciate this news

I find that the teaser music sounds very similar to Revan's theme in SWTOR

Revan's theme (listen between 0:36 and 0:42)

ME3 teaser ( near the end)

I might be alone in this, but the ME soundtracks never really stood out to me. There were some good pieces in them, but I never found them to be as great as everyone seems to go on about.

O.o

Y'know, you're not the first. I used to be completely oblivious as to why people thought the ME sountrack was so great. But then the first game got so many accolades for its soundtrack that I went and listened to it without the game. Overall, I thought some parts were "meh" until my second playthrough and saw how well they fit the game.

I guess it's just that the music blends too well with the game that it doesn't stand out unless you're looking for it...

I'm beyond psyched. That's what I think, BioWare. I think that I'm being psyched.

I think that was Jimmy Hinson but I'm not sure. Gonna look it up now.

Edit: Yes, it's Jimmy. The list is in this interview: ocremix.org/info/Composer_Interview:_Wall_of_Sound

Exactly. Many people were sad when it was announced Wall of Sound wasn't returning. Now we're happy at least one of them is back.

Good list. Teaser music doesn't do nothing for me. It is cinematic, yeah. But it is nothing out of the ordinary. I guess it will be more memorable with images behind.

PS: certainly glad to see Hulick is still involved. Not sure to what extent, though.

Awesome, a fantastic interview that I hadn't seen before. Thanks for the link! I thought "Normandy Reborn" was Jimmy, but I didn't trust my gut for some reason.

About 30 minutes of music's worth.
