PS: certainly glad to see Hulick is still involved. Not sure to what extent, though.

About 30 minutes of music's worth.

How does that compare to ME1? It seems like you guys have a stacked deck for ME3 - lots of big name composers. Very excited about the teams' work. Keep it up!!! :D

I'm just massively relieved the Mass Effect Theme is still being worked into some of the new music - I had this horrible fear that it would have been thrown out like so many movie sequels' soundtracks.

Oh worry not. :) The main theme/Shepard's Theme makes another big appearance in ME3, in full bombastic orchestral form, during a killer scene towards the end!

When you say orchestral, do you mean live orchestra or is it still a virtual orchestra?

Many people were sad when it was announced Wall of Sound wasn't returning.

Looking back, people probably should have seen it coming, considering they didn't work on any of the story-based DLCs for ME2.

I did see it as a sign that they were looking for another composer. Or trying out composers.

Clint Mansell.

Nothing more need to be said.

If you are a long fan of ME then other names need to be said

.
Given the fact I enjoy ME's soundtrack a lot, especially ME2's, I guess you are right.
.
It is just that Clint Mansell's music is pefect.

I'm glad to see the list of composers. Sam Hulick is back, and the arrival and kasumi dlc had great music too. I like Clint Mansel but I was afraid he might stray too far from the feel of previous ME games. While the atmosphere on this one's supposed to be different (all out war and all that) I'm glad some of the previous composers are still on the team.

Anyone else getting an epilogue vibe from the music teaser?

Yeah.  The part with the Mass Effect Main theme really hints at a post victory setting for the song.

This is the best announcement for ME3 ever, sounds like they've taken the best composers possible for this.  Arrival/LOTSB/Overlord music composers as well as Clint Mansell and Sam Hulick?  Outstanding.

Now that's a good group of composers.

Good to hear some guys who worked since the first game are back, they do the real hard work on a OST.

Did Christopher Lennertz work on the WW2 Medal of Honors? Or the modern reboot?

That's a pretty good team. Glad to see Sam is still on-board as well. Looking forward to what is likely another great soundtrack.

Was the music from the CE trailer part of that 30 minutes? That stuff was good. Btw why didn't bioware give you one of those tags?

Yay!  Best theme, not complete without it.  Loved how you could hear bits of it woven into "Suicide Mission" and "Normandy Reborn" as well.

Now what about "Vigil?"  That's the other big one.  Or is that too much information for one night?

The bit from 0:13 to 0:34, yep, that's part of the 30 mins. It's the explore track for *CENSORED*. ;)

And what do you mean by tag? A little "BioWare" developer tag on the forum? Probably because I'm not an official employee, I'm a contractor. But I WOULD like to know how to change my avatar to whatever I want, which I see AdmiralCheez has done. ;)

You have two options:

1. Hack your Dragon Age save files.
2. Tell the folks at Bioware that their fans would like to upload their own avatars without hacking their Dragon Age save files.

Hey Sam, a lot of us have done so. Unfortunately my memory is a bit foggy on the specifics, but what most of us have done is download a program from BioWare called the Dragon Age: Origins Character Builder. At least, I believe that's what it's called.

It's a tad complicated (at least to me, as I'm not at all prolific on these things) but there's a helpful how-to guide here on BSN somewhere. It's pretty quick and painless but I can't remember exactly how it's done. If you PM AdmiralCheez I'm certain she can either direct you to wherever that guide was or tell you how to do it herself.

I hope this message was helpful and I apologize for not giving you a direct answer, but in any case, your music has done a lot for my workout sessions at the gym so I'd love to repay the favor in some small fashion, lol.

. . .

Cheez already replied to you.

. . .

I lost my chance to help Sam Hulick.

Sadface.
