Sorry to reqoute myself, but oh my god, the new sound clip IS a reprise of the "Victory" theme from ME1.AdmiralCheez wrote...
@Terror: Listen closely. It's very Mass Effect.
Here, let me help.
And that horn flourish at the end is Shepard's theme.
I KNEW it was familiar!

Here, let me help.
In terms of dominant instrumentation, a very orchestral piece. As were the "Mass Effect Theme" (and the reprise at the end), "Spectre Induction", "The Citadel", "The Presidium", "Defending the Colony", "The Alien Queen", "Breeding Ground", "Exit", "Sovereign's Theme", and "Uplink". Even the more predominantly "synthy" tracks in ME1 often had a lot of strings and horns thrown in, sometimes transitioning into full-on orchestral mode (e.g. "Saren"). Like many other things around here, the degree to which ME2's score was more orchestral than ME1's is over-exaggerated.
Also, somber, piano-based stuff ain't new to the series either:
One thing I've always found amusing too is that the people who gripe about ME2's score being "Hollywoodified" never call out ME1 for having some rock track that really has nothing at all to do with the game and wasn't written for it play over the credits. Regardless of the fact that it's a good track, that's pure Hollywood right there.

Like at the end of the Earth level. I really don't think a synthy and upbeat track would have contributed to anything in that scene.

At least there's one thing about ME3 that people wont **** about
Of course they will. You can even find some people griping about the sample they released. It's mild by BSN standards, but it's still griping.

I've seen his Tweet about that.
EA is just not doing it for unknown reason.

Great to see you around Cris, you have no idea how glad I am to know you're working on ME3. Call me silly/sentimental. I loved Arrival's music and I know you won't let us down.
Also what didymos1120 said.

Shame, really. Arrival was very... homage-y, the best out of the DLC OSTs for me. I'd buy that album in a heartbeat.

Just because a track has synthesizers doesn't mean that it's upbeat. Just listen to Noveria and Vigil.Someone With Mass wrote...
There's not always a good moment for synth.
