The original game gives 0.4 spirit and mana damage per willpower point, this tweak gives 0.8, 1.2 or 1.6 depending on the version you use. Half that against non mages.

If Holy Smite doesn't seem Smitey enough, try a different version.
Spirit and Mana Damage against Mages:

 WM VD T2 T3 T4
+00 40 36 32 28
+10 44 44 44 44
+20 48 52 56 60
+30 52 60 68 76
etc.

Spirit Damage against everything else:

 WM VD T2 T3 T4
+00 20 18 16 14
+10 22 22 22 22

Key:
WM - Willpower modifier=Willpower-10
VD - Damage from Vanilla Holy Smite
T2 - Damage from tweaked Holy Smite Willpower Modifier x2
T3 - Damage from tweaked Holy Smite Willpower Modifier x3
T4 - Damage from tweaked Holy Smite Willpower Modifier x4

Version 1.1:
Fixed dumb bug (multiplying integer instead of float)
Added x3 and x4 will modifier.

Updated Holy Smite Tweak again.

A new variation to try, the Holy Smack em in the Head Version (HSHV), per DaiBi's vision:

100 base mana drain plus 5 mana drain per willpower.  Spirit Damage is as per vanilla, with mages getting added to that half of the mana damage applied to spirit damge.  Everything else get vanilla damage.

You can't take Holy Smite until level 15, and a mage at around that level will have a minimum of 155 health and somewhere around 280 mana.  So this spell will be pretty devastating against mages.

Templars are awful caster killers. Once they blow their holy smite they're just another melee class to be CC'd. Game's lore is hilarious when it mentions how templars are supposed to somehow control mages. They'd be obliterated.



To be fair though, judging by the mage origin the Circle is not the most competent group of magic users we've ever seen. They're an odd mixture of self-immolation and senility. The templars would be SOL against most of the non-tower mages though.

Templars would have made an interesting base class imo. Though it does seem kind of pointless.

Of course it is.
Templars are the only one who can wear templar armor.
And guess what, they're the best of the game, period. Give me 40% magic resistance over a dragonbone armor anytime.
