Hi, so when I insert the disc, the launcher appears, I can install DirectX (and have done so), view the Read Me and exit the launcher, but when I click Install Game, the launcher closes and nothing happens. No errors, nothing. I can reboot the launcher from My Computer and running the disc, but the exact same as above happens.

I've tried going into the disc files and manually running Setup.exe, but again, nothing happens. I don't have it already installed or anything. I have had it installed on my old computer before so the disc should be fine.

So I have no idea what I can do. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

It's an old and often repeated EA problem with all of their games and disks. They add something to all of them that conflicts with a percentage of the DVD burners out there. If you have both a DVD Reader as well as a DVD burner, try the other one. Otherwise, there has already been a lot of repeated coverage of workarounds, not including returning the disc, since the same bad tracks exist on all copies. Just run a search with a proper tool, such as Google / Yahoo, and add the neded redirector:

Hey, thanks for the reply. I tried a few searches with various keywords such as EA, Disk, Installing, Dragon Age, Problem, etc etc and included the re-director but I didn't find anything useful. If you could find me a link that would be great?

Wow. I just tried to run it again on the off-chance it worked, and it did! No idea what has changed... Well I rebooted my computer but I had done that several times before trying to get it working. Thanks anyway for your help! I'll probably post again if the Awakening disk doesn't work

Using Google or Yahoo, add all of them together, disk install failed, for instance: 

www.google.com/search

(Google claimed 5000 hits on that)

Thanks, I looked at a few of the search results and they all had some form of error notification; mine gave me no feedback whatsoever. I assume it was the same sort of problem anyway, but we'll never know!
