TW2 was the most disappointing of the year for me, but that's probably my own fault for listening to hype.

Everything that was hyped was pretty much delivered. I just don't think it's your kind of game.

Dragon Age 2 deserves it's place on that list without a doubt.

We went from Dragon Age Origins... to Dragon Age 2, think about it for a bit.

Yup.

Stepping down from Origins to Dragon Age 2 was not a single step down the stairs, it was akin to walking down the stairs of a 50 story building. It deserves to be on the list.

Agreed.  I thought CD Projekt did an excellent job delivering on its promises.  My only disappointment with TW 2 was the QTEs.  I handled them fine, but prefer Origin's pause and play style.  Still, IMO, the QTEs were an improvement over the timing based attack of the first Witcher.

Like your name...nice kudos to Baldur's Gate series. :)

Why thank you kind sir. Baldur's Gate is one of several reasons why Bioware will always have a place on my hard drive, as well as in my old and increasingly jaded heart.  Aww Bioware. Image IPB

I would love to see the next DA lift the series back up where it belongs. When I see Skyrim and TW2 bringing their A-game (for the most part), I want Bioware to step right up and bat one out of the park.

@ President Cowboy

You joking right? TW2 exceeded all my expectations, which were high. CD Project did a great job with it. I'm only halfway with Skyrim and I love it. Still I think I might prefer TW2 over Skyrim... its very close, they both amazing.

DA2 was a major disappointment for me and deserves to be on the list. Judging by sales and the the current bargain bin price of DA2, It looks like the majority found it a dissapointment. Please note I say it was a disappointment and not the worst game ever made. (although it could be the worst bioware game)

Everything that was promised by CDPR was delivered sure. Everything I heard from the hype... not so much. It is my kind of game but I just found the story and all the characters sooo dull, and I hated the combat. Is a very well made game though don't get me wrong.

Well, disappointing is not the same thing as terrible. DAII wasn't terrible, but its relative strengths in my view (writing, companions) versus its faults (area and combat encounter design, puddle-deep side quests, lack of meaningful decisions) made it so I would probably have enjoyed it just as much if I'd been watching it as an animated series rather than playing it. That's disappointing to me when I'm playing a game, particularly from Bioware.

Well i agree whit this list .

Dragon age orgins was a Was briljant game it had depth in the story, the story on its self was verry strong.

The compainiongs where new and briljant where all verry strong the all had sense of right and wrong sten try to kill me morgian left me is was all good for the story
the length of the game was verry good the quest where good the 3 start point the races

dragon age 2

was just disapointment when i firt heard that make dragon age 2 it realy make'd my day and i was looking forward to it eaven after the changes the make, and you only could play 1 story whit hawk

i had ok not fan if this but is bioware and bioware never fails and then i start 2 play

i was just so dispapointing first q was just walk hit a vieuw buttons and that is second was like almost complety the same

then every dungeon look complety the shame  talking of making quick money like 15 mounth between 2 games   and you geth that

the story was a compleet disapointment
the new combat systeem 2
hit a button actie was cool but t he rest of combat symsteem complety sucked
the boss fight where complety easy beside legacy boss en the dragon in act 3

the only good thing of dragon age 2 was it was realy short like 12 ours from start to finish dragon age orgins toke me 23.55 mins to complete and i had fun all the way.

so dragon age 2 orgins geth 9.5
dragon age awaking geth a 7
dragon age 2 geth 3 from me
and realy hope the make something good whit dragon age 3

And DA2 appears on another disappointment list, this time from Kotaku US:

"Dragon Age II
In Dragon Age, BioWare delivered one of the great role-playing games of this generation. Dragon Age II was...OK, but boy, if they'd cut any more corners on it there'd have been nothing left but a pile of cut corners on the floor."

I can't wait until my website posts our games of the year list in a few days...we each get a choice for most disappointing game, I don't think any of us will be putting Dragon Age II in that category, at least as far as I know right now.

DA2 was disappointing for me, as most everything I loved in the original was gone. I am an RPG gamer, and I enjoy shooters on occasion, but felt like DA2 was more of Dragon Effect than a DA title. I have not been able to replay it through again, and I've tried several times. DA:Origins on the other hand, I still play that game. In fact, I've been replaying it as of this month. I have beaten DA:O roughly 8x, and it is still fun. I have probably devoted over 200 hours to it. I love the characters, the story, and the choices.

PLus, DA:O with Gaider's books = heaven.

I am looking forward to DA3, as it seems like they're planning to implement the good of DA:O and DA2 together.

The graphics and combat strikes were great and wonderful, but that storyline...well. Kinda wish it would have continued the Grey Warden one, but I know that became near impossible :P The storyline needed a little more work though : /

Well DA 2 is disappointing but why the hell isn't DS 3 on that list especially for PC players broken combat even with patches (don't lock on enemies well), shallow characters (not even give us some sort of backstory on them just you were born and raised there of with you to fight against rebels), Voice Acting is terrible especially those who try to mimic accents like russian and skills trees feels old and simple not much choices how to build your character now tired of discussing more of this crap.

The problem with games these days is the devs of each company are trying to hard to out wit eachother by adding new things and making a complete mock up then they loose sight on what made the first set of games great if they just stick to a formaular that works why try fixing it?

Really? I think the combat in TW2 is awesome™. Its the most realistic combat I´ve seen in computer games for a long time. The way Geralt dances through battlefield is just excellent, fast but believable. Thrusts and swings as they shoul be.

I liked it in DA2 when you would slash enemies with a mace. That was super realistic :)

DA2 wasnt a bad game, it was fun to play, i think the dlc were too late coming, i lost interest in the franchise and only played thru once. mass effect 1 and 2 got 4 run throughs, but also the arrogant attitude of devs put me off as well.
Origins still is the onle and only, played that through 2 times, witcher 2 as well. dunno why i lost interest in DA2? it was a bit meh tbh

It just felt a bit clunky for me, but it was quite realistic... until you hit the back button and Geralt turns his back to the enemy.

Check out the Metacritic page for SWTOR. The same thing that happened to DA 2 is happening to SWTOR, and imo SWTOR is a great game and nearly everyone I've seen that has played it has enjoyed it yet there are a large group of anon that hate it and can't accept that other people enjoy it...
g

That could also be hate from people who are still bitter that there will never be a KOTOR 3 and who detest MMO's and will never play an MMO

I'd easily put Marvel vs. Capcom 3 above (or would it be below, technically...?) DAII on the most disappointing list. That game was quite possibly the most disappointing game of my life. DAII certainly fell short of my expectations, but there were still aspects of it that I liked better than DA:O, and make it difficult to enjoy DA:O the same way. You take the good with the bad sometimes.

For me, DAII is certainly in the discussion, but nothing can possibly beat MvC3. I mean, they had to release an "Ultimate" version to fix a bunch of issues with the original in the exact same year. That game had so much hype and fell flat on its face in every way imaginable. I was devastated when I decided to sell it...

You have some weird tastes for story and characters then. The biggest complaint for the Witcher 2 was it's UI and combat, along with some hints towards console development here and there. But never it's story and it's characters.

It is a good game. But it's not a good Bioware game. They have standards that most people hope they reach. With DA2 it just didn't. At least the companions were superb. I think it's the reason why most people replay DA2.
