DA2 was disappointing for me, as most everything I loved in the original was gone. I am an RPG gamer, and I enjoy shooters on occasion, but felt like DA2 was more of Dragon Effect than a DA title. I have not been able to replay it through again, and I've tried several times. DA:Origins on the other hand, I still play that game. In fact, I've been replaying it as of this month. I have beaten DA:O roughly 8x, and it is still fun. I have probably devoted over 200 hours to it. I love the characters, the story, and the choices.

PLus, DA:O with Gaider's books = heaven.

I am looking forward to DA3, as it seems like they're planning to implement the good of DA:O and DA2 together.

I really hate that accusation. Shooters are a million miles away from what DA2 was. Not only is it a million miles away by the way, it's also deep underground hiding behind RTSs and Simulation games.

I was not making an accusation, but giving my opinion on how the game made me feel & respond. Hence why I worded my post with "but felt" which uses possessive language to discuss my thoughts. I would give examples to explain "Dragon Effect", but I really do not feel that I need to since I did not coin the term and others have already done that for me.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and if everyone agreed a forum would be a very boring place.

Did I try to change your mind? Accusation or not, it still relates to the topic of Dragon age 2 and shooters, thus I still dislike the term ever being related to Dragon Age 2.

Don't take it as a personal attack. I never intended for that to be my tone.

TW2 was the most disappointing of the year for me, but that's probably my own fault for listening to hype.

Everything that was hyped was pretty much delivered. I just don't think it's your kind of game.

Everything that was promised by CDPR was delivered sure. Everything I heard from the hype... not so much. It is my kind of game but I just found the story and all the characters sooo dull, and I hated the combat. Is a very well made game though don't get me wrong.

You have some weird tastes for story and characters then. The biggest complaint for the Witcher 2 was it's UI and combat, along with some hints towards console development here and there. But never it's story and it's characters.

If liking stories and characters that are actually good is considered "weird" then sure.

jk ;)

My list of most disappointing game would be every PC game released in the last 5+ years with the exception of DA:O (not including expansions)

And I only say PC because I don't play on any other platform.

I have to say that DA II sure took the cake though for most disappointing, with Two Worlds II almost tied, and Skyrim a close 3rd.

Diablo 3 isn't even out yet and I gave up on it with all the junk they are trying to add to it to milk that game of cash.

As a proud hobbyist of RPG game playing of 25 years, i'm done until game companies can get their heads out of their asses.

DA2 disappointed me in just about every way possible. Even out of game things like the stupid signature edition promotion, so if I do not pre-order and buy a game on release but still willing to pay the same price as someone who did I got to pay almost 25% extra of the main games price to get the extra content they got? Get stuffed. I rented the game instead. Give me full product for full price or get nothing from me until the all DLC bargain bin edition releases. Great way to disappoint your fans before they even get to play the game.

It isn't a terrible game, appearing on this list just says more about how great DAO was than bad DA2 is though. DAO a tough act to follow.

Try the Witcher EE and the Witcher 2.
