I loved the story in DA2 - I saw nothing wrong with the writing whatsoever - it was the delivery that I felt let the game down.

Maybe it was too rushed /shrugs - I dont know.

I am also very keen to see how it all ends - that is good writing IMO

They kept telling us how much our choices in DAO were gonna matter in DA23  a nd it never seemed as much as they were letting on.  The rushed feeling i think is the 5 min quest here and there that didnt add to DAO or DA2 they we just the so you could get an oblject that you could probably sell.

Stop ****ing and go away, please. There are twenty other threads talking about this already in a more coherent and structured matter.

As for the contest...im in draft 2....hope you like dialouge over combat folks, I have none of it in mine.

First draft complete! Just shy of 2000 words but that's how I like it. Now I can take my time with my story and I still have the leeway to add and take where needed. ^-^

I sent in my story last night. And I got my copy of Asunder today via UPS.

I wonder if it's good or bad that I wrote my story without reading the book. Hmm.

Yeah, I haven't read it yet, either, but it is next in my cue.  Luckily my story takes place before Origins, so I think I'll be alright on that account.

Mine is almost done, just have to have a couple people edit it for grammar and whatnot.  It turned out really short!  About 1,400.  Hardest part I am having is coming up with a suitable title...

Well.. I haven't read the book, sadly. But I think I will try this. Sounds like a challenge! :)

Title: Home

Summary: Avery ponders his fate within the wall of Kirkwall's infamous Circle and wonders about what might be

I know it's not a great summary... but the story is pretty decent, I guess...

You need to go over different advertisements especially those who are from your competitors. Learn where you can win over your competitor's advertisements. Write where you can pull over your competitors' weakness and win the interest of your target audience. After you have gone through your research, start making monster beats dr dre an outline of your material. Begin enumerating the advantages your target market will gain. Work on those advantages. You will not be able to accomplish the initial step of copywriting if you do not have what it takes to be patient. Apart from patience, the most vital factor which is important for you to climb the ladder of success to copywriting is pushing both your brain and heart to work. You need your brain to think different strategies to come up with monster beats in ear advertising materials that will catch your audience's attention. Who will think of patronizing your product if you do not initially capture their interest? Along with your brain, let your heart work as well. You need to feel and understand what your target audience may most likely respond to what you are imparting to them. It is recommended that you have first-hand dr dre monster beats experience with what you are potentially 'selling' so that you will personally feel or understand the effectiveness of what you are offering. If you can use the product, then use it. If it is a person you are promoting, then interact with the person. #dasrfrt520

Have many entries have been submitted thus far? Will they also be accessible to the community at some point to read through?

Oh wow, I only just saw this thread. Time to whip out the butterfly net and go catch a plot bunny.

One question, does the plot have to be all serious business? Dark, gritty and all that?

:/ Reading them all must be a monumental task.

(But we appreciate it.)

Sounds like fun. Just one question, does the perspective have to be from a Mage or Templar from a circle? Is it okay to write from a rogue Templar, Apostate, or warden perspective as long as they are a Mage or Templar?

You can see abstracts of submitted entries here. Our thinking is that you can read those and PM any member whose story you are interested, and it is up to them whether they would like to share.

Remember, if you have not posted your story there but sent us your entry, please do as we'll cross check! That thread is a collection of stories, an art gallery of sorts, and we want to showcase them!

Makes sense, for the authors to be the ones to make the call on whether their stories are made publically available. Will have to keep an eye on that topic then.

Can the story take place pre-DA1 events? And must it be within the time frame of the game's / book's story timeline? May we use minimum DA lore and substitute it for DA's grander fantasy lore? I.E. the forming of Templars, the beginning of slavery for Elves, ect.

It should be very obvious from reading that your story is set within the paremeters of the DA universe. Pre- DAII or DAO is fine, however, be aware it will be more difficult to write a convincing piece of fiction the more you stray from existing lore.

Good point and thank you kindly for the reply. I think I have created a nice little story many will enjoy reading. :) Will we get more details on where / when we can expect to see or hear the final read of the winning story?

Well I only read a exerpt from it posted online and didnt read the book until after I sent mine in as well. There was so much going on in the book I almost wish I waited, but it wouldnt have made a difference. I knew what I wanted to write and it wouldn't have changed with the restriction in place for the challenge. I'm continuing the story on my own with no restrictions and seeing how it'll continue with the new knowledge I gained from the book.

The opportunity to write a story set in a Bioware universe is amazing. Even if I don't win, I was happy for the chance to enter such a contest. Best of luck to all.

This combines two of my favorite things: writing and Dragon Age. I AM SO GAME.
It's even brought me out of my almsot eternal lurking mode, so that's something special right there.

And Happy New Years everyone! :D

I hate to say it, but 2,500 words! lol For me it's not even enough to paint just two scenes alone lol Oh well I'll just write it all up and see where I can trim the fat. :) Good luck everybody!

I had the same problem. 2500 words for me was too limiting a number. The story I wanted to tell went over 3300 words, and by cutting out some of it I think it lost its luster (or at least part of it). As a result, I sent in my unedited version incase they wanted to read that as well.

Honestly, I doubt I'll win. I did this mostly for the opportunity to have it read by the Bioware people and hopefully receive some writing critique on it.

The one that has a 300 lb bearded man wearing a pink tutu and having fairy wings.
