A reminder: you don't post your abstracts here. You post them in this other thread:

The first version of my tale took itself way too seriously.
So I rebuilt it from the ground up.
Now it's not so serious.

Done and sent. It was quite fun. Though I do have a question: At what point does violence become "excessive"?

Didja ever see Romeo Must Die? Right about the time they show you the real time xray of the bones shattering during the fights, I think that's the line.

Thanks, I actually read through the Dev posts on this Thread, and that answered my question. Basically, if the game can get away with it, the so can you. Makes me feel kind of silly for toning down some of the violence in my work before submitting it.

So about when can we expect to find out the results? And will there be someplace the stories can be showcased together, so anyone else in the community can read them?

I just finished and sent mine in. Does BioWare give confirmation that they received our stories? I wouldn't want to find out too late that I didn't email it the right way.

I don't think you get confirmation... I sent mine to the correct email address, and it's showing up in my sent box, so I think that's about it for confirmation. Early on emails were bouncing back so people mentioned it in this thread and they fixed it. I think if your email doesn't bounce back, you're good :)

Thanks. :) It does show up in my sent box, so hopefully that means it went through all right.

I just submitted. Good luck to all and thanks for the fun opportunity, Bioware. You should hold comps like this more often!

Entry submitted. Anyone knows if we get a confirmation email in return?

From what I understand, and posted above, the best confirmation you'll get is seeing your email in your "sent" box or folder.

Let's hope then it doesn't decide to bounce back on the 10th.<_<

I thought this was the best confirmation any of us could get :)

Last stretch to get your stories in!!!

To answer a ?? re: violence... If your story is painting visuals like rotten dot com then you've gone too far with blood and gore ;) It is subjective but try your best!

The reason we have the abstracts posted in the other thread is to showcase the entries, like a written art gallery! Browse through them and after the 10th feel free to PM any user whose abstract you found compelling and ask for the full story. It is up to him or her to share it. And after the 10th, feel free to post your story anywhere you'd like. We claim no ownership to your work.

We have so many entries that I am not able to email confirmation of receipt. However I am receiving them in my inbox, so unless you misspelled the email address you should be fine. Request a read receipt if your email provider has that function and you are particularly worried :)

Good luck everyone!

Also if you have any last minute questions you need me to answer, the fastest way to get a response is to tweet at me (see link in my sig). Not trying to force Amy twitter converts but I get phone alerts if someone tweets at me whereas I have to manually check here - if I wasn't driving all day today, I wouldn't mind hanging out in the forums :)

I wonder, do I have to sent it as a doc or is .pdf alright? I prefer to sent pdf's actually. For receiver protection, mind you. :)

The devs have said any format so long as most computers should be able to open it.  So I'd go with Word formats and pdfs.  I sent mine as a PDF to preserve formatting and what not, not that my formatting was all that important.  But it looks nice the way it is.  :P

I must have missed that. Thank you for your answer!

Oh, but we have to include a word count. Just received the message. I thought I'd let you know.
