Due to problems with Fanfiction.net, such as a two day wait and stories apparently only being allowed to be uploaded in .doc format. I cannot use them and decided to just upload the .rtf file of my story to sendspace. Which is a safe and easy file host.

OMG I completely agree with you; FFN is completely bonkers these days.  Methinks we're going to see ads on that sight soon or perhaps there will be paid accounts because they obviously cannot handle the current capacity.

Ugh! FF.Net's been driving me CRAZY lately

Anyone know if the lucky five have been named yet? Reading back and I'm a bit confused, thought someone said it was updated...

I haven't seen or heard anything, and I've been getting email updates every time anyone posts to the thread.

Ah, didn't see this. Thank you. x)

I've been checking this quite literally every day, ahaha.

(The Fall of Kinloch Hold  (

Author: TehVGG
Constructive Criticism Requested: Yes, please.

Synopsis: This tells my perspective on the final events of Uldred's takeover of the Fereldan Circle, just before the                            timeline of DA:O. It follows Eltha (in third person), a female elf who unwillingly witnesses horrible things.

This is one of the stories I was waiting to read. :) Uldred's takeover was a part of the game that I always wanted to know more about. I like your writing style too.

Thanks! :)

Yeah it was of a personal interest to know more, so when the contest was announced I knew immediately what I wanted to write.

Same here, even though they just said a few days ago that there is no estimated time for the results. xD That didn't sound like it would be too soon, and yet, here I am.

I've always wondered what would have happened if my first mage Warden (a Fereldan version of the main character in my story) was still at the tower when Uldred started his rebellion. It's nice to see what other characters would have done too.

I have a DA writing forum on ff.net, and haven't been able to post replies to it for the last couple days... I keep getting error type 2. It's frustrating :/

As for the checking... yeah, I keep checking on a regular basis. I can't help myself! :)

I have an entry for Shadow of Light Dragon's awesome list of radical stories. :)

Author: Aenne

Three Days Prior

Abstract:
I sat there all alone, the cold midnight air chilling me to
the bone. My back leaned against the unforgiving wall of the Chantry as I
fought hard to not topple over. My blonde hair was matted to my cheek with my
own blood. More blood soaked my armor and my sword, it pooled frantically
beneath me. I looked towards the nightmare sky, the moon sneered down at me.
The Maker, Andraste, not even the stars in the sky could help me. I was in
utter shock of what I had done. I closed my eyes tightly and I wept.

CC: Yes, please!

Hello SoLD grateful if you could oblige!

Title: A Harrowing

Author: Maria 13

Location: http://social.biowar...230/blog/211098

Synopsis:

Ferelden is different.

While the Free Marches plunge into turmoil following the incidents in Starkhaven and Kirkwall and Orlais tears itself apart in the frenzy of a civil war; Ferelden stands firm and united. The tribulations of the recent Blight have given way to a sense of solidarity among all races and classes, even, to an extent, among mages and templars, which has been further encouraged by the new monarchs.

However, some things still hold true and the Harrowing remains a turning point for mages. In Kinloch Hold the fateful day has arrived for Cormac and Niamh.

Abstract thread updated :)

Just curious, I was going to compile a decent number of entries into a Word doc to make a .mobi out of to read on my Kindle, since that's easier than at the computer for me. Is anyone specifically interested in being included OR in getting a copy of the .mobi file when I have it ready? All stories will include their title and BSN username for credit. ^_^ (Cross-posting this to the entries thread as well, just in case.)

I'm happy to have my story included, but have no Kindle or e-reader, alas. :/

I'll probably make a copy in every format I can, so I'll include a PDF as well. :)

Got yours added. ^_^ So far the list for the public file includes:

The Last Meal - Thargorichiban
Past Entombed in the Present - BrennaCeDria
ALLUVIAL SOLACE – Tryynity
Na Mortius Lerno Libertas - Shadow of Light Dragon
The Right - OdanUrr

I'm literally just keeping them in the order that I'm given permission to add them to the public file (I'll have a ToC so that users should be able to skip to any given story without too much trouble if needed).

It's giving me a little bit of trouble at the moment going from doc to epub, but that's the plan, yeah. I've also got MobiPocket Creator for the Kindle version, since I already know how to work that.

Just checking, are both your entries in SoLD's thread? If so, I'll grab them from there and get them added; if not, link me so I can retrieve them.

So everyone knows, I'm doing this with as little changes to formatting as possible, but in the (very) few instances that an entry is too hard to read in its original format, I'll be adjusting paragraph spacing, etc. I think only two stories have had to have adjustments made so far, though, and those were both in my private me-only version of the file, not the public one.

I should probably send you the .docx then. Either send me a pm with an email address or I'll upload it when I get home and pm you the link.

When I use Calibre and encounter issues with .doc files, I just save the .doc files as .rtf and then do the conversion.  That seems to work better.  (just personal experience...)

No worries. I'll just try switching it to .rtf or .pdf before putting it into Calibre.

Well, here's my entry to be added to Shadow of Light Dragon's thread. I've really enjoyed reading what everyone else has done! Very inspiring.

Sowing and Reaping
Author: Talaith_900
Constructive Criticism Requested: Yes
Synopsis: A young mage is imprisoned in a Chantry cell. To keep the demons at bay,
she immerses herself in memories of her life with her parents and older
sister (who was also a mage) and of her capture by the templars, and
dreams of what she will do once she has her freedom again.
