Also, that's really nice of them to read more, hey? Surely DG reading it was the prize. (Well, it's the prize I wanted, anyway. And  I cracked and bought Asunder, even though it seemed silly, if the book should have been motivating me to write a good story. A bigger pool of stories being read by DG - and others - is really nice.)

Same here. Just knowing that David Gaider and other writers at BioWare enjoyed my work would be the best prize of all, especially for those of us who have hopes of writing professionally.

I'm going to wait until the results of the contest before buying Asunder. If I'm in the final five, then yay, autographed copy! And if not, I'll be buying mine from the store like many others already have. I've seen a lot of great, interesting things mentioned on the forums about Asunder. :)

@Imported_beer: I'm glad you brought this to everyone's attention. People deserve to know that so much of her novel is stolen material.:

That is me. Protecting Sten from alleged original porn since 2011

On that note, thanks to everyone who helped prevent the "she is lying" comments from being buried, by uprating them.

AND more importantly, good luck to everyone who participated in this contest.

And apparently this is not the only book. Check the blog of the 'author': The Haanta Blogspot

King Alasdair even looks like Alistair.

Definitely nice to hear he's reading more than the top five! But if they only announce the top five and don't mention the others they read, I'm going to spend the rest of my days wondering if David Gaider read mine or not.

Mine hasn't arrived yet but, from what I've now seen mentioned, my interpretation of - edit: well, maybe that's a spoiler, but lets say "content" - might be a little bit wrong. Sadly. Never mind. I now wish I'd read it first.

@Maria I've been trying to find a shot of the gladitorial area in Baldur's Gate 2, but have turned up nothing. I quite like the idea of a little formation of writers battling a giant troll.

Yeah... I had Asunder preordered and auto-downloaded to my Kindle app on release day. Anything from this is just gravy. :D

I wouldn't really worry about anything in Asunder contradicting anything about the Tranquil from Origins or anything else. At least, not that doesn't also contradict what the characters themselves also believe. Is that vague enough? I hope so. >.<

I've been stressing about this issue too, since my MC was a mage who was killing time waiting to become tranquil.
Oh well, too late to change anything now, heh...

I want to vent more too! Should we start another thread so that discussions about Sten and the Warden do not take space in a thread where real writers are discussing their work and submissions?

Because I feel guilty. The people on this thread are mostly people who have worked hard to write something they believed worthwhile for this contest, and do not deserve to have their verbal fears, hopes, thoughts, and expectations tainted by discussions of someone who chose to take the easy way out.

What do you think?

Yeah, lets move on. I think it's better that way. Please create the new thread. It's your honor, IMO. =)

I don't want her writing destroying the fun. And I don't want to keep BrennaCeDria awake through the night again. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/kissing.png[/smilie]

I cannot start a thread. I was one of the first people to join BSN, until my account got accidentally deleted and now I have to go hunt for all my registration codes to re-register all my games before I can.

You could wait- which given my notorious reputation of losing things in inexplicable places could take a long time. Or you could start the thread yourself and enjoy the wonderful passages from Sten and the Warden that I could post for the benefit of readers immediately!

BTM, never ever link that again!  My brain squeezed out my ear and ran for the hills when I tried to read that... that...    style?  atrocity?  sin against good FF authors everywhere?

Wow, how bad is it when the writing is so overwrought that only the writing itself can describe how overwrought it is?

If you guys are making another thread for this, maybe it should be in the General Discussion forum that doesn't require game registration to post? (I think there are two, one for registered game owners and one that doesn't require it.) There were some people who couldn't post in the thread of collected contest stories because they didn't have a registered game, so this might be easier for them.

Oh, God.

You know, ordinarily, I'm against being unprofessional toward another author... but this one... this one deserves it since her behavior has the potential to reflect so very badly on all of us.  And um... it's just that bad.
