I'm normally the same way. Even if the writing is terribly bad, I have a hard time commenting about it in any way that might be considered rude, constructive criticism included. But when major parts of the story are actually stolen from another author, I think we have the right to say how bad it is.Sialater wrote...
Oh, God.
You know, ordinarily, I'm against being unprofessional toward another author... but this one... this one deserves it since her behavior has the potential to reflect so very badly on all of us. And um... it's just that bad.

I try not to be too catty, but... seriously, you steal all your ideas and it *still* ends up like that? <_< TIME TO STOP WRITING!

That's nice.
Would this forum be okay for the thread? Can everybody post there? I would call the thread: "The epic fail of Michelle Franklin" with this picture at the beginners post.

Well... I was kinda running with the mob scene from Beauty and the Beast, but it died a painful death when I realized I was Gaston in my little fantasy.
This is what happens when I'm too busy at work to write!
ColorMeSurprised: I can see that.

Hehe. Love the picture.
Yes, I think it should be fine, I don't see the annoying 'you can't post' message. The fool I am I created a second account for DA2... and I'm too lazy to switch them all the time.

For some reason, my mind transformed this to "hitting people in their faces with their own novel" when I first read it.BrennaCeDria wrote...

Just curious but if you posted her entire novel on the forum, do you think she would come after you for copy right infringement?

Whoa...I did NOT wish Sten was romanceable!
He was...yeah...no...he was like a big surly brother to me. Someone who had to be placated with cookies, not salacious acts! And the entire internal bleeding thing to me is not something I consider an erotic advantage. If anything, it is a "run away fast in screaming terror" disadvantage. But if people like that, that is what fan fiction is for. It is to take characters to places...they may have never been, and while I may not like it, I can accept others may. Subjectivity is something I am comfortable with.
What I object to is then claiming that world and that character as only your own. To the extent of denying even knowing what influenced it.
I didnt find the old Sten attractive - or even remotely nice to talk to LOL
The new Qunari however are a different story
LOL OMG

I'm head over heels with the Arishoks body, mind you. And I'm not into muscular bodies. At all.
But damn. Just look at that:

Best scene in DA2 if you ask me.

I have nothing against MF or any author writing whatever the hell they want, and it'd be hypocritical to lambaste her for writing fanfiction of any sort (being critical of her writing style is another matter), and I even think it'd be cool if fanfic writers could get money for commissions like fanartists do, but if she's lying about her lack of Dragon Age knowledge then that deserves to have a little light shed upon it.

He's reading more entries?!
Could that mean he was unhappy with the Final Five and has decided to seek out new finalists?
Hopefully he liked the final five so much he wanted to read more.

Though I doubt it. I wrote about a character he himself wrote and I guess he had her past in his mind and all in his head. So if my concept of her doesn't fit his I doubt I have any chance at all.
