This question may have been over asked but where do we get new news on the progress of the contest? x
Don't feel bad, we've derailed things so badly, so many times, that it's probably hard to find. As of yesterday, the stories were distributed among the writers in general. No word on when decisions are going to be made yet, though.

I think it's awesome that Bioware has opted to let all of its writers take a look at our work. Honestly, I think this way everyone will have a fair shot at winning, which is always a plus for any competition.

I went ahead and posted my entry on ff.net yesterday. I know a lot of others have done the same.

While I'm all for DG and the DA writers in general seeing as many of our entries as possible, I also wonder how much it becomes diminishing returns where they get beaten down by the sheer volume and increasingly skim/gloss over just trying to get out from under the mountain of virtual paper. It's gotta be tough to read so many individual, unrelated stories and maintain a strong sense of objectivity (or interest). So big kudos for the effort the team is putting forth on our behalf!

You are so getting a review once I'm home and can devote the proper time to one. I've got one chapter of my own to finish, and one person queued ahead of you for a review, but you'll have it, I promise.

Dave has decided to read more of the entries, and the rest of us have been enlisted/volunteered to help out. Which means if you entered your work, at least one writer or editor here will have read it.
That is fantastic news! Thanks to all of you for reading the entries. It's not an easy job and I'm sure I speak for many/most/all of us when I say that it's really appreciated!
I figure this is asking a lot, but perhaps after the contest is over, would it be possible for those of us interestd in getting feedback to message someone on the writing team to request it? I know Jessica had intended to provide at least minimal feedback for entries, but with the sheer volume of work that isn't as likely.
Thanks again!

I don't think we can expect the writers-turned-readers to give us feedback on our entries; I think the so-called Writers' Pit contains about six writers (right? no?) so that's still a lot of entries for each person to read.

However, I do like the idea of my wet knickers drying on the Arishok's horns. He is rather sexy. Still, we need that self tanning lotion.
Meravas.
And his voice, too. Hehe, be it German or English, I can't stop listening to this raspy voice.
Well, we have to admit, he was clearly splendidly staged. His first appearance in the first act was quite sublime. He should have just kept his mouth shut. Most of the time I wan't to shove my weapon into his mouth. What a bigoted race.
Completely agree! Rick Wasserman, the Arishook's voice actor, did an amazing job! <3
And he's an amazing guy himself!! I was lucky enough to interview him about DA2/Arishook for a gaming podcast I do. I love Rick, so awesome!

*pout* Why are some entries getting reviews and mine has ... none ;_; Two folks even told me they read it and loved it but when I went to check, they didn't leave any comments. *cry* Guess I should have asked for constructive criticism??
I'm getting there, I'm sorry!

You're not alone in this. I've had maybe 25 people read mine and gotten 1 review? I'm alright with that, I'm happy my entry is getting read by the writers - that's a nice thing to hear!

I had never tried writing fanfiction before this competition but now I'm so inspired by all the amazing stuff that I've been reading from the other entrants and I've had so much fun writing my own that I think I should probably make myself a FF.net account and write and read more of it.
What does an FF account let you so?

You can technically do everything but publish and post on the forums without an account, but you can only leave "unsigned" reviews if you don't log into an account first. I'll take any review I get on my stories' chapters, but I prefer the signed ones cause I normally end up in a string of 10-12 messages just chatting with the person about the story and everything else.
Heck, that's technically how I found out about the contest here: a friend on Twitter that I met on FF.net bullied me into it.
OdanUrr: You're on my list. Reviews will come when I can do them properly and not just "lulz I liked it". It might take me a while, but I try to do them right. I do sometimes go overboard with the red ink, though...
